~Ingredients~

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 cup shortening

2 eggs

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

2 1/4 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

1/2 cup Smarties (use red and green smarties for Christmas, if you like)

Cream together first 5 ingredients.

Add next 3 ingredients, mix well.

Add Smarties.

Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
