Terra-cotta pots can be used to make a wonderful flower fountain.

Invert one 8 1/4 inch pot inside both the 12 1/4 and the 14 inch pots. Fill the 14 inch pot with potting soil to within 2 inches of the the top. Place the 12 1/4 inch inside the 14 inch pot; fill with soil to within 2 inches of the top. Set the other 8 1/4 inch pot inside the 12 1/4 inch pot; fill with soil ti within 2 inches of the top. Fill with desired plants. Note: Trailing plants, like ivy work best around the edges. A tall plant looks best placed in the centre of the top pot.

Use an old chair as a plant holder. Measure the diameter of your pot and then cut a hole in the seat the same size. Insert the potted plant into the seat and it will act as a holder for it. If you like, you could paint the chair a complimentary colour to your garden hues.

Another neat thing to try with an old chair is a "Chair Topiary"

Shape the chicken wire around the back and legs of the chair. Use wire cutters to trim the sections as needed and florist's wire to join the sections. Cover the seat with 6 mil plastic, then form the chicken wire into a shallow basket like shape over it.

Cover the chicken wire with damp moss. Again, use florist's wire to hold the moss in place. Wrap fishing line around the arms and legs and tie the moss in place. Mix the crystals into your potting soil, and fill the seat area. Plant your trailing plant in the seat area. I am going to try baby's tears or sweet pea.
