~Simple Halloween Costumes~
Black
Cat
Dress all in black clothes. Twist
2 black streamers together to form a tail, pin this to the
back of your clothes. Use black eyeliner to draw on whiskers
and a nose. Wear black gloves for your paws. Make ears from
black and pink construction paper and attach to a head band.
Bee
Cut the sleeves out of
a yellow sweatshirt. Use black fabric or fabric paint to make
evenly spaced stripes on the sweatshirt. Twist 2 pieces of
florist wire onto a headband, so that the sprigs of wire are
sticking out the top of the headband like antennae. On the
top of each wire, attach a small styrofoam ball that has been
dipped in gold glitter. These will be your antennae. Dress
all in black and wear the yellow and black striped sweatshirt
over the black clothes.
Bag Of Jelly Beans 
Wear white pants and
a white shirt. Cut holes for your legs in the bottom of a
clear trash bag and cut holes foryour arms. Just below the
top of the bag, cut evenly spaced holes and weave a piece
of ribbon/yarn in and out the holes. Blow up various coloured
ballons. Don't blow them up too big, these are going to become
your jelly beans. Slip your legs and arms through the holes
you cut in the bag. Have someone drop the ballooons into the
bag and spread them out in the bag. Tie the yarn/ribbon into
a bow. Tie it securly as this is what is holding your bag
up. Nice costume but rather hard to sit down in!
Lego Block
Take a large box and
cut out holes for your arms and head, the bottom of the box
is already open for your legs. Attach 2 rows of small, plastic
Dixie cups to the front of the box. Spray paint the entire
box the same colour (3 coats, over 3 days, works best) Put
the box in a well ventilated area to dry after the last coat
of paint as this will help to get rid of the paint fumes before
wearing. You can even make hats out of shoeboxes and cups
to match, if you want to. Very simple and very cute!
Crayon
Dress all in one colour.
Make a Crayola sign using black construction paper, cut the
letters for the word Crayola from the same colour construction
paper as the crayon you are being (I.E. if you are a red crayon,
the word Crayola should be done in red letters). Make dunce
style hats in matching construction paper for the tip of the
crayon.
Sun
Burned Tourist
Wear your brightest 'Hawaiian
shirt', shorts, camera around your neck, and a floppy hat.
Use red face paint and sponge it on one side of you only,
and use white face paint to put the 'zinc' on your nose.
Face Paint
1 tsp.
cornstarch
1/2
tsp. water
1/2 tsp.
cold cream
1/2
tsp. food colouring
. Mix
together in an old muffin tin. *NOTE* Amount given is for
each colour.
