I knew in an instant, I'd known you before,
I felt you weren't new to my heart . . .
Perhaps in heaven, before we were born,
That's where you had left your mark.

We must have been playmates
 in heaven's domain,
And with the angels above . . .
We must have romped on heaven's shore,
Within God's wonderful love.

God sent His blessings on an angel's wing,
I know it's part of His plan . . .
The irregular and intimate quality of things,
Given with love my His hand.

And now our paths cross once again,
Though we are miles apart . . .
You have touched my life, and I feel blessed,
I hold you dearly in my heart.

My cup of life has been graciously filled,
God has blessed me once again . . .
There's one thing that will always hold true,
I'll be your "forever friend".
