I arise in the morning and face
a new day of great
opportunities
and of great responsibilities

Therefore,
I shall love the unlovely,
be kind to the unkindly,
and reward the unworthy.

for,
there have been times,
when I was unlovely, times
when I was unkindly, and times
when I was unworthy.

I shall need the grace
 of God above
To keep my feet on the path
that leads through
a long and worthy life.
