TRIP NOTES: These are highlites of our bicycle trip across America.
NEBRASKA:
July 15th--18th,we entered the state of Nebraska!  We have gone a little over 200 miles.  We got to Ogallala today.  We spent three days at the lake.  We needed a rest and God opened up many ministry opportunities.
Jim & I were walking on the beach.  The kids were playing with some other kids.  They had already shared with the mom why we were traveling on bicycles.  When we arrived where they were, we met Shelly and her four daughters.  We talked for about 2 hours.  Her life was a mess: worry, alcohol, stress, divorce, etc.  We shared and cried with her.  When we left her life was totally changed!

While at Ogallala, we were also able to share with a church group from Evergreen CO that was camping there.  We encouraged them to walk in God's purpose for each of their lives.  There was one particular young man there that had not made a committment to Christ.  He did so that night!

God's provision is awesome!  When leaving Ogallala we ran into a lady that we had met in Julesburg four days prior.  She blessed us with $50!

July 29th--We spent the night in teepees in Kearney!  The kids thought that was way cool!

July 31st--Aug 2nd  We spent a few days in Aurora NE.  God did some awesome things here.  We went to the hardware store to get a bottle of propane.  We talked to the salesman-Ardeen, to find the propane.  After that we were looking at the bike stuff.  He came around again and we told him what we were doing out here.  He said that he was a Christian and acknowledged what we were doing.  Then walked away.  He came back a few minutes later and asked how we were supported.  We talked some more and the Holy Spirit hit him and he started bawling like a baby.  He pushed us down the aisle so everyone couldn't see.  He was celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary and has four kids that all love the Lord and are raising their kids in God.  He said God had been so good to him.  We prayed with him right there in the hardware store!

We were riding around town and saw a truck that said ministry to truck drivers.  We stopped and knocked on their door.  We shared with them for awhile what we were doing out here.  They thought it was good until I said that we've seen salvation and healings.  I thought they were going to get a rope and string us up.  She said, "You believe in healing?!"  We said yes.  Jim started talking about Acts.  He said, "Don't try to convince me!"  She said, "We're Calvanists and if God wants us to believe that way He'll make us."  We changed to cordial conversation then left.  After getting back to the park, the kids were walking around and they were stopped by this couple.  They gave them $10 to give to us!  God provides how He chooses!

July 20th--we stopped in Hershey NE this morning to fix a flat.  A person that lives on the street came over to watch.  We talked to him for a while.  He insisted that we take fifty cents for the air compressor.  He didn't want anything to do with God.  He thought  that he was ok.  Before we left though, he gave us a canteloupe for our lunch.

We spent the weekend in North Platte at the Buffalo Bill Campground.  We were able to go to the Buffalo Bill Museum.  It was an interesting place.
On Monday the 22nd we were leaving North Platte and stopped at a church called "His Place".  The pastor was there.  He invited us to his house for lunch.  We spent the day with Pastor Brett Terry and his wife Martha.  We camped out in their yard.  It was a very encouraging day for all of us.

July 23rd--We met a guy--Ward Anderson--thaat was bicycling from Buffalo NY to Las Angeles CA.  We shared Christ with him and he received Him as Lord!  Praise God!  He now has a purpose to ride his bike!

July 24th--We rode to Gothenburg today.  God led us down a street to a church called Faith Chapel.  We found out later that it was the only church that had Wednesday night service.  We fellowshipped with them there.  The praise & worship was awesome.  the people opened up and worshipped Him.  There were only about 12 people there.  The Pastor had Jim share what we are doing out here.  It was a great encouragement to all to step out and do.  After service the Pastor told us we could sleep in the church and make ourselves at home.  He then blessed us with the offering that had been taken.  God's provision is AWESOME!

July 25th--  We were so blessed today at lunch.  We stopped at a park in Cozad.  While eating lunch, some teenagers came up and began witnessing to us.  It was awesome to see youth walking in what God had for them!  It was a camp group from the United Methodist Church.

July 26th--It was 108 degrees today.  We were about six miles from Lexington and Jim was praying for a shade tree.  There were three houses in a row and the last one had an inviting tree in the yard.  We turned in and asked the kids that were there if we could borrow their tree.  We were resting in the shade when their grandma--Sharon came home.  She invited us in for ice water and then asked us to stay for dinner and spend the night in her yard.  Jim told me to see if I could do a load of laundry, but before I even had the chance to ask, she asked me if I had any to do.  Praise God for His provision!
