Homework Policy
Why do I assign homework? I believe homework is important because it provides extra practice, promotes good study habits, and reinforces what is being learned in class. All of this helps in teaching responsibility.

When will homework be assigned? Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday nights. There will be no homework assigned on weekends or during holidays or school breaks.

What are your child's homework responsibilities? I expect students to do their best job on each homework assignment.  I expect homework to be neat, not sloppy.  All daily written work should be done in pencil.  All homework is due the following day after it is assigned.

What are a parent's homework responsibilities
?  Parents are the key to making homework a positive experience for their children.  Therefore, I ask that you make homework a top priority at home.  Provide necessary supplies and a quiet homework environment, set aside a time everyday when homework should be done, provide praise and support, not allow your child to avoid doing homework, and contact me if you notice a problem.

What will happen if students do not complete their homework assignment? If students choose not to do their homework, they will lose points for the assignment. If students still choose not to do their homework, they are also choosing to lose certain privileges.

How is homework graded? For homework submitted the day that it's due, students will receive 10 points. If the assignment is received the following day, students will receive 5 points. No points will be received if homework is submitted after the second day. Your child will lose recess/freetime for failure to turn in homework.
