CHarles Brookin, born in Orange Co.,, VA. He moved with his father and mother to Mason Co.,, Y around 1826. He was then about age 9. In 1845 he married Mary McCord at age 28. Charles an d Mary had three children. Mary died in Mason Co.,, KY on March 25 1853.
Charles Brookin, in 1853, in Mason Co., KY, married hsis second wife, Mary Ellen Powee. Sometime around 1857 he and Mary Ellen moved their family to Seedtick, Audrain Co., MO. A
Charles dies in Mexico, MO in 1879. He was initially buried in the cemetary at Seedtick. However, when Mary Ellen died in Mexico, MO in 1912 at age 94, his remains were moved into Mexico and reburied alongside Mary Ellen in the Elmwood Cemetary. The story is told that "James Power and Lewis Sanford (Wilas Wilson's son) who was just a child then, all went out and dug up his remains and brought them to Mexico and reburied Charles beside gradma (his wife). They just put the dates of her birth and death on the other side of Grandpa's stone".
Charles married Mary McCORD on 22 Dec 1845 in Mason Co., Kentucky. (Mary McCORD was born about 1822 in Fleming Co., Kentucky and died on 25 Mar 1853 in Mason Co., Kentucky.)
Charles also married Mary Ellen Power. (Mary Ellen Power was born on 10 Apr 1828 in Chatham, Braken Co., Kentucky 5 and died on 10 Mar 1912 in Mexico, Audrain Co., MO.)
