He is at the head of the group shown. Grant is a freshman (2004) and is already on the varsity track team. Not surprising, considering his parents (his dad did track and his mom is a triathlete who has done the famous Hawaii triathlon. Here is a poem written and published by Leanne (1999) I AM… I am a girl who likes to read and write. I wonder how my dad is doing. I hear my dad is very loving. I see the words in the book and what I have written. I want to see relatives when I die. I am a girl who likes to read and write. I pretend I am a princess of wonder and excitement. I feel the warmth from my home in the winter. I touch the book as I read and write. I worry my cat will soon get run over. I cry from my dad’s and uncle’s deaths. I am a girl who likes to read and write. I understand that there will be times when I will be sad. I say I will always be able to see my dad. I dream that I am a princess of wonder. I try to do my best. I hope my house doesn’t catch on fire. I am a girl who likes to read and write. |
