Anna Marie Modahl (also known as Oleana Jacobsdatter, Marie Modahl, Mary Modahl and Maria Modahl) was the daughter of Jakob Olsen Modahl and Dorothea Amundsdatter Askim.  She was born on 27 October 1859 in  Skien, Telemark, Norway. 
She left Norway with her parents on 18 April 1867 on the ship 'Laurdal', from the Port of Porsgrun and arrived on 28 May 1867 at  Quebec City. The family proceeded on to Fillmore county, Minnesota, USA.

She married Andreas Olson Løvaas, in about 1875 at Pope County, Minnesota. They had 7 children:

1. Olavus Levi Lovaas was born in 1876.  He married Augusta Regina Spettel some time around 1915 - 1919. He died in 1926, at Garrison, North Dakota. He was buried in 1926, at Garrison Cemetery, Garrison, North Dakota.

2. Mina Adelia Lovaas was born on 13 July 1878 at Rolling Forks, Pope Co., Minnesota. She married Gust Linholt. She died after 1941, at Minneapolis, Minnesota.

3. Josephine Dealine Lovaas was born on 27 July 1880 at Rolling Forks, Pope Co., Minnesota . She married Mark Wold.  She died after 1941.

4. Anton Emelius Lovaas was born on 3 May 1882 at Rolling Forks, Pope Co., Minnesota. He died before 1885, at Rolling Forks, Pope Co., Minnesota.

5. Ellen Christine Lovaas  was born on 26 March 1884 at Rolling Forks, Pope Co., Minnesota.She to married ? Carlson.

6. Garfield Lovaas was born on 17 October 1886 at Artichoke, Big Stone Co., Minnesota. His  was a Hardware Store Owner.  He married Victoria Mina Bertha Chellberg on 2 December 1914 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. He died on 3 October 1964, at Minneapolis, Minnesota, at age 78. and was buried in the Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

7. Bertha Stenitta Lovaas was born on 14 February 1889

This marriage ended around 1890. She later married Hans Andersen Lund. They had 6 children:

1.  Englebert Lund was born in 1892 at Benson, Minnesota. He died in 1968, at British Columbia.

2.  Hilda Lund was born in 1895 at Badoura Twp., Hubbard Co., Minnesota. She married William Butler in 1912 at Delisle, Saskatchewan.

3.  Caroline 'Lena' Lund was born in 1896. She died in 1939.

4.  Dewey Lund was born in 1898.

5.  Willard Lund was also known as Willie. He was born in 1900. He died in 1965.

6.  Vera Lund was born in 1902. She died in 1942.

They immigrated  to Loganton, Saskatchewan, 1 April 1904.  She and Hans Andersen Lund filed a homestead application on 6 February 1906 on at SW 1/4 Sec.24, Twp.35, Rge.9, W. of 3rd Mer., Saskatchewan.

She died on 16 May 1943, at City Hospital, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at age 83. She was buried on 19 May 1943, at Delisle Cemetery, Delisle, Saskatchewan.
