May 14, 2008 -- Wikimedia Foundation was alleged to have "illegally" posted a copy of the "1999 LDS Church Handbook of Instructions" on line. The handbook clearly states the LDS Church's cult system. Naturally, such information discourages church membership should it be publicly disclosed.
March 26, 2008 -- The LDS Church is very rich. 10% of one's gross income is required as a "tithing" donation to remain in "good standing." Temple attendance is denied to those who do not meet this key requirement. You cannot, for example, attend your son's or daughter's wedding without paying a full tithing. You must have a temple recommend to attend any wedding. Further, church ministers are non-paid positions. No money is paid to those serving in most positions below the top-most hierarchy level.
September 26, 2007 -- While 52% of Americans viewed the LDS, Mormon Church, positively, 27 percent viewed Mormons unfavorably in a national survey. "The lack of information about Muslims and Mormons has to be put in broader context," said John Greel, a Pew Forum senior fellow. "Many Americans know very little about the larger religious groups. June 14, 2006 -- The LDS Church's Brigham Young University (BYU) is still on the list of censured schools by the American Association of University Professors. BYU violates academic freedom and tenure guidelines.
April 28, 2006 -- Several professionals link Utah's high suicide rate to the LDS Mormon practices. Utah's suicide rate hovers among the 10 highest in the nation and has exceeded the U.S. rate for two decades. (Deseret News, April 28, 2006)
April 20, 2006 -- A further tightening of the belt for the members. Maybe this will bind them more closely into the cult? .... The specially embossed undergarments mandated by the hierarchy to be worn by all "worthy" Mormons have some new twists. For a member to purchase these garments (usually at a cost of about three times normal undergarments), he must now furnish even more proof of his membership. Awhile back, just a "member number" was all that was necessary. Nope, not any more. Additionally, the member must now furnish his date of confirmation.
February 2, 2005 -- A major policy change by the LDS, Mormon, Corporation was made during 2005. Tightening the cult control over membership in the Mormon Church, the underclothing (garments) were to be sold only to those members who had temple recommends or could show proof of membership by presenting their "member number."
January 25, 2005 -- "You're fired! .... You can't hold your job if you've helped an excommunicated member or you haven't paid 10% of your gross salary back to us!" Court upholds Mormon Church Corporation's wishes.

December 3, 2004 -- In an address at an annual Christmas Dinner for the Mormon held Bonneville Corporation (owner of many radio and TV stations), President of the LDS Church, Gordon B. Hinckley gave a speech with a very bleak outlook. "America is bankrupt," he stated. Meeting with a financial advisor that same day, he "just found out" that the national debt has saddled "every man, woman and child in America with a 1.1 MILLION DOLLARS debt to pay off."
October 29, 2004 -- A Kent, Seattle man has sued the LDS Church for shielding a child molester for more than a decade. Church leaders discouraged the man from reporting the abuse.
April 19, 2004 -- A new report reveals that Utah ranks 4th with high school graduates and 31st with the number of college graduates. Not surprising. Considering that the Mormon family pays 10% of it's gross income to the LDS Church as tithing while in addition footing the bill for their children's missions, the money simply isn't there for higher education in the middle and lower income family. The LDS Church places higher priority upon a child serving a mission (a salesman for the LDS church) than upon broadening his education.
March 16, 2004 -- Open prostitution, abuse, child sex abuse, sex abuse, poverty, women in slavery, genetic degradation, ---- all define Polygamy. Polygamy was started by the LDS, Mormon Church. The problem has continued despite laws prohibiting the practice. Further, it has grown into nearby Utah towns ... with one group now located in Canada.
March 9, 2004 -- What it says isn't what it says, .... according to a recent Mormon apostle. While Mormon doctrine states that meat should be eaten only in times of famine and only in times of excess hungar, .... some clarification was needed. December 5, 2003 -- Under a special waiver of The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules, the LDS Church purchased 15 new radio stations. The rule that was waived is one which prohibits monopolization of the media in a community. This will assure that Bonneville (a Mormon Church Corporation) dominates the S.L. market; in addition, dominating another Southern Utah and Idaho market.
August 9, 2003 -- Latest on the sale of Salt Lake's Main Street. A sweet, almost private, deal between the LDS Church and scandalous Mayor Deedee Corrodini, sold one block of Salt Lake City's Main Street. The deal was set up for the city to retain public easement. March 4, 2003 (Salt Lake Tribune) -- Utah really does have some of the largest families in the nation. Just ask the Internal Revenue Service. Seventeen Utah counties rank among the top 50 nationwide in terms of the average number of exemptions claimed per federal tax return. This translates into a $300 tax break for low income families per child --- or a $1,050 tax break per child in higher income families. We'll let you do the figuring on who REALLY pays to make up the lost tax monies because of these large families.
January 17, 2003 (Deseret News) -- $100 million is fleeced from Mormon (LDS Church) members by various forms of racketeering. Three of six people were indicted -- with more to come. Utah has a disproportionate share of this type of fraud. Not surprising. The Mormon Church teaches members to stack belief and myth above one's own thinking, judgment and education. The Council for Better Business Bureaus reported that in the 1980s, 10,000 Utah people lost an estimated $215 million. The scams continue.
January 14, 2003 -- Are the Mormons going underground? In the Salt Lake Tribune it notes that the church stopped providing employment information five years ago and ceased providing more detailed data at least 15 years ago. The Mormon Church is the largest employer in the State of Utah. As to why the State of Utah has not included the church in it's employment figures, "The fact that there is one omission, I've lived with that for 30 years. It doesn't tarnish or jeopardize the other numbers in there." These were the words of Mr. Wood, the interim director of the University of Utah's Bureau of Economic and Business Research.
December 22, 2002 -- The LDS Church is cutting back. They won't reveal the financial part, but LDS Church jobs are being eliminated. November 13, 2002 -- The LDS Church announced they are buying FIFTEEN radio stations, many in Salt Lake, others in Idaho and other parts of Utah. They said they will have to have the FCC change the rules in order to make the purchase. The FCC will not allow monopolization of the media. In answer to this FCC ruling, an LDS Church representative said it is an "old fashioned" rule which should be struck from the books.
October 11, 2002 - The Denver 10th Circuit Court reprimanded the Mormon judge who dismissed an important legal case against the Mormon Church. This case involved the purchase of downtown Salt Lake City Main Street. Salt Lake City sold a section of Main Street to the LDS Church with the stipulation that it remain open for public access. The Mormon church tried to override this stipulation by writing and enforcing it's own restrictions on the property -- even sending some to jail who "were found in violation"! The Mormon judge tried a fast one by dismissing a court case brought up against the LDS Church. And guess what? The Mormon Church has not given up yet. They are appealing the overturned decision and using other coercive tactics to gain control over this section of land.

June 3, 2002 - CBS News reported that Utah uses TWICE the national average of anti-depressant drugs compared to the nation. Further, Utah ranks 9th in suicides. The head of the Utah Psychiatric Association blames these high figures on Mormonism. Story

November, 2001 - The LDS Church settles out of court, paying 3-MILLION for a child abuse case. Many other child abuse cases are pending against the Mormon Church. All other cases to date have also been settled out of court for undisclosed amounts.
2001 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) want their named changed. It should now be referred to as "The Church of Jesus Christ." They do NOT want media to refer to them as the Mormons or LDS, ever again. One apostle was quoted to say ... "He hates being called a Mormon." Funny that this happens right before the S.L.C. Winter Olympics in 2002. Mainstreaming of the Mormon Church seems to be the obvious primary goal.
2001 - LDS Church sues one of the prominent educational sites operated by Sandra and Gerald Tanner on Mormonism. They publicly disclosed how a Mormon could get their name removed from the LDS Church records --- an act the LDS Church wanted to be held under cover. They first tried suing the Tanners for copying sections of copyrighted material from their LDS Church Handbook of Instruction." The case took on some twists --- a charge then was to make even referencing copyrighted material was illegal. This case sent deep chills over their entire Web causing irate reactions worldwide. Such ridiculous charges were upheld by a local Mormon-thinking judge. This case was settled out of court -- a common practice by the LDS Church to prevent decisions from being made public. This particular decision left in limbo, what is legal about copyright material being put on the Web, .... again, because no decisive decision was ever issued by a court -- it ended up being a big victory for the Mormon Church. The Internet is still suffering because valuable information which should be made public is dared not to be published on the Web. (The fair use section of the copyright law does allow sections of copyright material to be published)
Earlier, Gerald and Sandra Tanner were sued for disclosing information about "Temples and Marriages," Church Discipline," Records and Reports," "Questions asked for Temple Recommends," and "Readmision after Name Removal." After a legal fight, the Tanners removed the material from their Web site.
This legal battle had a chilling effect upon the "educational" section of the copyright law which states quoting from copyrighted material for educational purposes is perfectly legal.
Much of the LDS Church's wealth is hidden in multiple corporations. It was announced today that LDS owned Bonneville Corporation purchased KRBV-FM in Los Angeles for $137.5 million. This will bring the total 31 radio and 5 television stations.
This was further amplified this week when Brigham Young University fired one of it's philosophy professors for writing his feelings in an editorial in the Salt Lake Tribune about a week ago. His comments were in opposition to the LDS Church's stance on gay marriage. (Deseret News, June 14, 2006)
The underwear made in LDS factories and sold by LDS stores is worn by "faithful" Mormons. Mormons are told that such clothing is "protective" against all forms of evil including even catastrophies. It has extended leg lengths and is embossed with several Masonic-like symbols which cover the chest, belly-button and knee areas. Faithful members are sworn in to wear this clothing 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year once they have received their "endowments" in a Mormon temple ceremony.
Half-believing members can no longer just walk up and buy their underclothing with this new policy now in effect.
Even the modern, main-stream LDS Church, authorizes polygamy in their doctrine. (However, you will be excommunicated if you practice it) Main-stream LDS Temple ceremonies do polygamous "sealings for the dead," today. (the Salt Lake Tribune -- March 14, 2004)
The LDS Church uses a sneaky technique to hide it's enormous wealth and influence. By forming multiple corporations and companies, few can easily associate or recognize these many companies owned by the Mormon Church.
