Cichlasoma Nigrofasciatum
This is a Central American cichlid. I have a pair of these that are breeding all of the time. They spawn every 5-6 weeks on average. They are very aggressive, especially when they are spawning. The optimum breeding temperature for them is 75 degrees. The males have a forehead that is more slanted than the females. The females have more color, and develop orange on them as they mature. These fish are really great starter fish for the first time breeder. They begin to breed at 3 inches and grow to be a total of 4 or 5 inches.
