Eye Biter

Altolamprologus Calvus

This fish is from the narrow rocky areas of Lake Tanganyika. In my opinion this one of the coolest fish. They get to be about 14 cm, and they require a tank with water temperature from 25-27 degrees C. Their heads are pointed and they have a very high dorsal fin. They have brown vertical stripes, which are more prominent in the front. The back half of the body is covered with white flecks, and the anal and caudal fins get blue near the edges. All of these colors come together to make one of the most beautiful type of fish there is. The only problem with these fish is that they are quite a time investment. What I mean is that they grow very slowly and don't usually reach this color for a long time. The males of this species are larger. These fish should be kept in a medium sized tank with many caves. You should not feed these fish dry food.
