| "New Kids on the Block" SOU 3/8/94 Grayson is featured along with Amy Carlson and Diego Serrano as newbie 20somethings on AW. Besides the typical bio, the article says he hailed from Westchester, New York (I've also heard Chappaqua, a suburb of NYC?) and that he was an all around overachiever--sports and academics. His AW work consumed most of his time, but that he was working on a screenplay (dunno if it's the same one, the Western he's doing now). He also spent a lot of time answering fanmail, and wrote back often. He did it all by himself, signing and sending photos to fans on the weekends. As a note, guess it was his newbie side; he had only been on the show for two months! He says it gets him fueled and motivated on the show. He mentioned Morgan got a sexual hangup after being accused of raping Lorna, but that hopefully he'll lighten up with Brett. as a side note, Amy Carlson is now on Trial by Jury, and did just a 3yr stint as Josie...one of the few daytimers who has had steady gigs on primetime (other was Third Watch) She's got a great website www.amycarlson.com SOU was one fabu mag, and it's a pity so many of the soap mags were axed. |

| "Coming this week to a theatre near you." SOM 7/7/98 This feature talked about Grayson's post AW stuff, and it's a revelation that he was really working his career postAW. It's got some Armageddon pics that you may have seen on his official site. I loved the one with him and Liv Tyler; he's got some great sapphire blue eyes! Also a lot of folks say they didn't like his haircut in the film, but in these pics he looks FWINE! I think also it was his firsttime ever gettin a haircut so short that it removed his curly locks. One thing it said was that the film was also filmed in Houston in '97...WAAAAH I was in Houston and didn't even know the cast/crew was there! Another detail was that he got his first two gigs from his very first two L.A. auditions. (90210 and Sins) Also got me sad, he renovated his NYC apartment for 7 months and only got to live there for another 2 yrs before moving to west coast! As we all know he did Legacy in 1998, and he talked about the pilot and called it cross between Bonanza and Legends of the Fall. Also to note is that I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW Grayson had his website up since 1998! Dang! He also had a QA feature where fans could ask him stuff, but I don't know it was removed. (the Prez before Felicia had to deal with the crazy folk?) Another note was that he and Timothy Gibbs (exGary AW) were great friends and that Grayson even called Jill Phelps on OLTL up to praise Tim when he was playing Kevin. The link to this was that Jill is now EP of GH, and I LOATHE her to the 100th power! Also, it didn't cross my mind that Grayson sits and watches other soaps! The last part, he was asked if he would return to daytime. He said doors were never closed, and since Legacy was on one season and closed four months (sadly, it was axed) he could do other projects too. WOW, so he was even open at that time to returning to daytime...I hear over and over how many daytimers leave swearing they would never do daytime again, so I gotta hand it to Grayson for being open-minded despite a rockin year he had. Other notes: I read this 1998 mag, and it got me nostalgic. Where was I in the soapworld? I was only watching Days on a regular basis, and that summer, Mike and Carrie had their first kiss. I still recall online how we were all psyched. Pretty much we waited over a year for a first kiss. Soaps really drag it out that long nowadays, but anticipation was really the magic key for soaps thriving. Mike and Carrie how I miss thee! I remember going to online for the first time ever for soaps, and it was totally rocking that time, (with more fanfare/press still put on soaps). Sigh. |
