~Birdbaths or Plant Stands~

(All three of these baths have been sold)

These terra cotta birdbaths will also serve as wonderful plant stands indoors or out. They all stand approx. three feet high and are built in three sections which come apart to accomodate easy storage. Each are hand painted, original designs and have a triple coat of polyurethane applied to make them weather resistant. Good warm weather and sun are required to make these baths, as the polyurethane should be applied outdoors and each coat should bake in the sun for at least one hour. This project is moderately time and labor intensive.

Lighthouse Birdbath
My appreciation for the beauty of
lighthouses inspired this bath/stand.
The terra cotta light that sits in
the middle of the saucer may be turned
upside down to hold a plant.

A particular piece of southwestern
mosaic art I'd once seen inspired this
bath/stand. The mosaic effect was achieved
by cutting various shapes from foam sheets
and using them as stamps to apply each
faux tile. To finish, some shading was applied.

As one of the larger craft shows on
my schedule happened to be at the shore,
I decided to create another lighthouse.
This one has a little light keepers house
attached, which was created using a wooden
birdhouse. This was the first bath that I sold.
