Roxann Dawson is best known to television audiences as Chief Engineer B'Elanna Torres on Paramount television's �Star Trek: Voyager� for UPN.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, she soon landed her first role as Diana Morales in the long running Broadway Production of �A Chorus Line.� While in New York, she performed in many off-Broadway productions including Julie Taymor's �The Tempest,� and as a member of the Circle Repertory Company she created roles in the original productions of �The Early Girl� and �V&V Only� among others. She has also performed with many regional theatres across the country from Arena Stage in Washington DC to South Coast Repertory in California.

Dawson was a regular in the NBC series �Nightingales� and �The Round Table.� Additionally, she had leading roles in several telefilms including �Mortal Sins,� �Dirty Work,� �Broken Angel,� �Pointman,� �Greyhounds� and the NBC miniseries Mario Puzo's �The Fortunate Pilgrim.� Most recently she was seen in the PBS film �Seeing Through Walls.� Her most notable episodic television credits include �The Untouchables,� �Jack's Place,� �Equal Justice� and most recently �Any Day Now� and �Seven Days.� Her feature film credits include leading roles in �Guilty By Suspicion� and �Darkman III.�

When not acting Dawson finds the time to pursue her other passions. She recently had her directorial debut on �Star Trek: Voyager� with the episode �Riddles.�  She also co-authored the book �Entering Tenebrea,� the first in a trilogy of books which will be published by Simon and Schuster.  In addition, Dawson's play, �Passage Through the Heart,� premiered in 1997 at the University of Minnesota and was an Irene Ryan finalist.

Dawson resides in Los Angeles with her husband, casting director Eric Dawson, and their two daughters.
