| Heartbreak Cafe's gutsy theme music comes from rare talent of Carrie Weiland and has been the musical trademark of the show. The song used is called "It's The Love Of", written by Rob Gironda and Carrie, and there's a full version of it on the CD "No Really I'm Fine" What's new with Carrie? Singer/songwriter Carrie Weiland of San Diego, California announces the release of her debut CD entitled No Really I'm Fine, a musically eclectic and lyrically provocative journey into life's soul-searching issues. No Really I'm Fine showcases Weiland and co-writer Rob Gironda's collaborative pop sensibility with a unique fusion of R & B, rock and neo-soul. Revealing an intimate yet universal perspective with each genre-bending song, . No Really I'm Fine is an artistic realization of life's inevitable mood swings and Weiland dares to respond with a candid show of hopeful bravado. Carrie unapologetically exposes her true nature through her music; "Kind" explores the organic mother/daughter dynamic after the death of her mother. "Suitcase" half-heartedly yields to a lack of commitment. The desperately vulnerable "You Love Me" pleads for raw, honest validation. "Right For You" protests ala Alanis, "Pain Pain Go Away" queenly demands denial and the gospel-inspired "I'll Be Here" patiently offers a tender kind of tough love. And sometimes a girl just wants to get her groove on with the playfully spirited "It's The Love Of". This emotionally charged CD boasts heavyweight studio musicians from the Los Angeles and San Diego regional talent pool. Stylistic comparisons have been made to the funky soul of Macy Gray, the assertive rock of Sheryl Crow, and the lamenting essence of Sarah McLachlan. Weiland's musical and lyrical convictions of independence and isolation are densely packed with a worldly reckoning that most can relate to and few can deny. Her smoldering live performances continue to surpass the magic captured on her debut CD with a weathered, yet pure, vocal intensity rarely matched by others in any genre Carrie has performed professionally as lead vocalist of some of the top variety dance/show bands in and around San Diego providing musical entertainment for the high profile special event circuit. Her co-writer, Rob Gironda, is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston and has also been prominent in the local musical community as a sought after keyboardist, studio session man, and songwriter/producer in San Diego. To help augment her career in music, Carrie continues to forge an alternate, yet oddly similar, career in the fitness industry. Known around town as an expert fitness instructor, Carrie teaches classes and is the Group Exercise Manager at Frog's Club One in Encinitas and Solana Beach.
