| Gretchen sighed. No youre just someone that is finally seeing her ex-boyfriend get over her. And its normal to have these feelings especially since you werent just the girlfriend. You were the best friend also and that must make everything feel ten times worst. You know I never truly understood what Pacey was going through when he and Dawson stopped speaking because Dawson and I always had some kind of distant repertoire going on between us but now its not there. Ever since him and Andie got together hes cut me off completely. Why is that happening if hes getting over me? Because now that he has Andie he doesnt have to hold onto you. I know this sounds cold and somewhat malicious but in a way I think that Dawson was using you. As long as there was no other woman in his life to fill the void of girlfriend and friend then he had to hold onto you. I mean losing Pacey was hard but there were a lot of guys willing to goof off and cut class with him if thats what he needed. Not to say that Pacey is easy to replace but it was easier to find certain aspects of his personality in other guys Dawsons age. But you you were unique. Where could he find a girl that was willing to be completely honest sometimes to the point of rude and still he could admire and be attracted to? Someone that was somewhat of his equal not a girl who had been to college and experienced too much more then he had. She stated eliminating herself automatically. Thats where Andie came in. She wasnt trying to replace you anymore then Dawson was intentionally using you. Thats just the way things happened. And too bad for you now you have to let him let you go. I mean really let you go so that he can find himself and whats important to him. It just feels as if were breaking up all over again. The pain is so new and fresh You know no matter how many times Dawson and I lose one another every time hurts just as badly as the first. She remarked brokenly. Reaching out Gretchen placed her fingers over Joeys in comfort not sure of what else to do. |
