| Easy Love Chapter: 7 When things start to get Complicated A few days later What do you think of this one? He asked as he handed her another photograph. She scrunched up her face at the black and white photo of Capesides sunset. I dont know it seems a little cheesy. She remarked honestly. They were lying face down on his bed with their heads at the foot of the bed going through all the pictures that he had taken a few weeks ago. How can you say this is cheesy? Its a sunset! Its suppose to be romantic and beautiful and enthralling. All I see is cheesy. She stated. It reminds me of a backdrop on a Harlequin Romance Novel. I dont see enough of you in these. He sighed and rolled his eyes. But this is me. Im cheesy Andie. Im the guy that goes for romance rather then angst and passion. I believe in wooing the girl and ,making overzealous overtures to win her heart. But thats not all you are. You can be passionate and intense. You dont think punching out my brother at a high school dance because he kissed your girl is intense? She questioned with raised eyebrows. He looked away somewhat embarrassed by the display of lost control. That was a single moment of insanity. Or what about when you hit Pacey in the face with a basketball because he revealed some adolescent nickname you had so long ago to Jen? She continued. When he hesitated she nodded. Exactly. Romance can be intense, its just hidden. You have to find it. Like with you I know that you can be intense youre just afraid to be. And so you bottle it up and pretend like it isnt there but its the very center of who you are inside. Once you find the passion, I think youll catch some great photos. Because these here arent going to win anything at that photography contest. She stated looking into his eyes. Have you always been this brutally honest? He joked. She shrugged as a response as she took a stand and began to put on her coat and hat. You love my blunt honesty. I have to get going. I need to pick up Jacks antibiotics at the drug store before it closes or hell kill me. She remarked reaching for her scarf. How is Jack? Wheezing like he has an elephant stuck up his nose. She replied with a smirk as she knocked something on the floor. Reaching down she picked up the photos she hadnt seen and stared at them. Dawson what are these? She asked amazed at the sight. He hesitated feeling uncomfortable. Those those are nothing. Just stupid pictures I took a few days ago theyre dumb. He said reaching for them but she pulled back. Theyre fantastic. This is it right here. This is what I was talking about. She said staring at the photos. I mean this is it. She said flipping through the photos. There was one of his little sister and another of Jen and Jack. She stopped short at the next one. It was of Joey. She was perched on the railing of the docks staring out into the oncoming night. It was beautiful. She tried to hide her discomfort and pain as she stared at it. Theyre really great. She muttered handing him the pictures. He saw the pain in her eyes before she could hide it but didnt know what to say. What could he say? He didnt know how to explain the photo in a way that she would understand. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. Look I can explain. Theres nothing to explain. You know you should send those in. Those are the pictures that really represent you. Its the passion that I was talking about. Andie listen to me! Im not sending them in. I told you that they didnt mean anything. He stated trying to get through to her. I was just taking pictures of anything to use up the last of the film. These arent what I want representing me. She stood there hearing his words but not really listening. She had to take a moment. Look I told you that I had to go. Ill talk to you later. Can I call you? He asked to her retreating form. She turned back and gave him a bright wide smile. Yeah Yeah you can. She replied before leaving. He sighed knowing that this wasnt over by a long shot. Looking down at the photo he sighed. Why had he taken this picture? And more importantly why did he keep it? At the drugstore Taking the package from the Pharmaceutical counter she began making her way home when she was stopped by a parent. Andie McPhee? She turned around and smiled recognizing the woman. Ms. McKinley? Hi! She stated enthusiastically. Hi. I just wanted to ask you how your brother was doing. James was so worried when he couldnt be there at his first soccer game. Oh hes getting better. I was just picking up some antibiotics for him. Do you think that hell be up and ready for the next game at the end of the week? She asked. Andie frowned. Actually his doctor said that he would be on bed rest for the next two weeks. Hes got the flu but hes also got an ear infection which isnt helping. She sighed deeply. Hes really upset that he wont be around for the kids next game because he really wanted to be. She remarked. |
