SHhhh! Jack said placing his palm over her mouth. Dont try to be discreet or anything!

Sorry but when you drop a bomb like that over the head of one named Jen Lindley I tend to go a little haywire for a few moments! She defended pushing his hand away. She looked around at the people who were staring at them. Just a new soap opera Young and the Children or something She muttered. Grabbing Jack by the arm she led him down the hall. Okay now I want details. I mean really intense explicit details! She remarked.

Pacey and Joey watched the two of them walk away and felt the tension return that was slowly dissipating a moment ago. Joey turned away from Pacey disentangling herself from his embrace and removing her Humanities text book from her locker and stuffing it into her back-pack. So I guess Ill see you at lunch? She asked trying to ignore the topic that was obviously on both of their minds.

Pacey cleared his throat seeing the doubt in her eyes and not knowing what to do to take it away because he knew that those doubts were the same as his own. Yeah Ill see you at lunch. He remarked.

Leaning in she kissed his lips and then planted one quickly on his forehead. They stood there for a moment in the hallway looking into the others eyes until the bell rang. Tucking a stray hair behind her head she gave him a half smile. Love you.

I love you too. He whispered and watched her walk away to class.

Joey sat in the back of the class trying to ignore the image of Dawson and Andie kissing in some romantic moonlit night setting. She opened her textbook and buried herself into the images and words before her trying to get lost in the Renaissance era. The escape was short-lived as Andie grabbed a seat beside her.

Joey, hey! She greeted enthusiastically.

She sighed and looked up briefly to greet the blond with a distant hello.

Andie barely noticed as she pulled out her binder and textbook. Opening it up she skimmed through her notes and ran her fingers through her hair with an air of complete joy. So because the test isnt until this Friday I was thinking that maybe you and I could be study buddies! You and I have great notes and I think that we could really benefit from one another and a real study session you know? What do you think? She asked being sincere.

Joey squirmed in her chair not sure of how she should respond. The thought of being alone with Andie for hours was not something that she wanted to do at the moment. Luckily for her she didnt have to answer because their professor walked in giving her an easy out for the moment.

Jen slid into a seat beside Dawson just after the bell rang with a sly smile on her face. Looking over at him she laughed softly in his direction making him look up from his Anatomy book. What? He asked.

She stifled her giggles and shook her head. Nothing nothing. I mean you know, its just a little hard to keep a straight face when all I can see is you kissing Andie under the pale moonlight. She whispered dramatically.

His eyes grew wide with astonishment and somewhat of sheer excitement. His cheeks became red and his smile widened at the thought. Are you kidding me? Who told you? Did Andie? He began his interrogation  but was quickly silenced by the teacher clearing his throat, letting them both know to be quiet.

They stopped momentarily until they were sure the focus was off of them and then she turned to him. Jack! She whispered. She looked over to see his genuine smile and smiled back. Look at you! Youre blushing! I didnt know that Dawson Leery could blush about Andie McPhee. This is incredible So tell me. How does it feel? She asked.

He sighed contentedly. In a word I cant even describe it in one word. I tell you Jen, I have never been this I dont even know what to call this. He laughed softly.

Happy. Its called being happy, Dawson. And I dont mean that angst happy that youre so accustomed to. I mean genuine, unmodified, happiness. She remarked with a smile.

He sat there for a moment thinking about her words and realized that just maybe she might be right. He was happy. He was truly happy. He had exactly what he wanted right now. He had a school career that wasnt packed with film classes. He didnt feel like he was being smothered by his own dream nor was he consumed with thoughts of his two best friends being with one another. He had a little brother or sister on the way and he had a girl in his life that he could talk to and be completely honest with. He had everything. Yeah I am happy. He remarked sitting back into his chair.

When the school bell rang signaling the end of the day it unknowingly erupted a silent volcano that no one had foreseen. Joey and Pacey met one another at her locker as they did at the end of every day. There was a small rift between them but for the moment they would be okay. Looking in his eyes she could see that for the moment it was just them being together and that was okay. Slipping his hand into hers they exited the school.

Andie finished loading her back pack and threw it over her shoulder. Looking around aimlessly she watched for Dawson and sighed when she couldnt find him. She should have known that this was to good to be true. She shouldnt have believed in some whirlwind romance that had no intention of going anywhere. Sighing deeply she exited the school alone and stopped short when she saw him waiting at the bottom of the steps with his back to her.

He stood there for a moment and then turned as though he could feel her presence. Turning around he stared up at her. Her blond hair pulled back away from her face in a loose ponytail, while her bangs flew back and forth across her forehead. She smiled at him brightly and waited for a moment for him to make the first move. She hadnt seen him all day and she didnt know where they stood. He took the first step up towards her and she began making her way down. They met somewhere in the middle and there they stood for a second before he leaned in and kissed her. Her hands went to the side of his face and cupped his cheeks drawing him in. Holding onto her waist gently he just stood there kissing her and letting her kiss him.

When they pulled apart, they remained close to one another as she brushed her nose against his in an intimate gesture and smiled brightly. He chuckled softly not believing that he could feel this good. He didnt know that he would be able to feel this way ever again after Joey. But here he was and all he could do was stand before this woman and smile back at her. Reaching down he grabbed her hand and she stared down at their intertwined fingers for a few seconds before she let him lead her away.
