The lodges of the North are not taverns or inns; they are homes under the rule of a Jarl. In Torvaldsland one of the highest points of honor is hospitality. The land is harsh but the guests are welcomed and treated well. It is a bondmaid's duty to be the essence of this hospitality. Do not wait to be asked to serve and do not offer to serve. Leap to your feet when a Jarl enters and run to fetch a pitcher of ale or mead. Saunter to where he has rested, lean against his arm and purr an offering he won't be able to refuse in his ear ... "Mead, Jarl? Perhpas the slut that serves it?"
Your serve should be no longer than 3-4 posts which can prove to be a challenge
as you still want to include your personal description and style. Know what you want to do and be very direct in your actions. In the North, we leave teasing and long wordy posts to the silk slaves in the South. Two posts is more than enough time to get you back to the Jarl that you are serving. Use the last post or two to really entice him for more than just mead. *grins* Horns are usually preset at each place along the "U" shaped tables so it gives leeway to a perfect opportunity for you to get creative. to pluck the horn from the table; Step one leg up on the bench as you pour giving him a lovely view of what else you could serve him; Turn and sit on the edge of the table with your feet on each side of his chair; Climb onto the table and walk from Jarl to Jarl to refill horns; Kneel to serve one or slide across the table to serve another or my personal favorite, lay across the table, lick your lips and offer up
the horn to seductively rub across his lower lip! All this can be done in short, precise steps. Visualize yourself as you serve. Remember, you are "painting a picture" in the Jarl's mind, leaving him wanting to reach out and grab you instead of whatever it is that you are serving him.
A bondmaid does not sit idly by, playing with her hair. After seeing to guests and the Free of her home, they roam the tables looking to refill horns and plates or sit with the Jarls at the tables, talking and entertaining. Their pleasure and enjoyment is a direct reflection of the Jarl of the lodge. Do not fail him! Although bondmaids wear kirtles when traveling or working outside, in the lodge she wears nothing save her collar and brand in order to please the Jarls using simple touches, pressing against them while pouring, soft whispers and gentle laughter to entice and tantalize them.
When she serves, her focus is getting food and drink to the Jarl as quicky as possible while still being pleasing and enticing with her actions. The longer, frilly serves are left for the pampered silk slaves of the South. She is allowed to speak while serving to further entertain and please the Jarls. The serve is basically a stream-lined version of a Southern silk serve but woven through the conversation. Your goal is to move with the flow of activity in the lodge. It will seem difficult at first, especially for one not fully trained already as a silk slave. But rest assured that it was new to all of us at one time and even the best trained red silk slaves find it challenging and exciting when they attempt their first serve as a bondmaid.
Free Women in the North do not wear robes of concealment or veils. Their hair usually falls free or it may be gathered in fine braids. Quite often they can and will look down on a bondmaid and treat her harshly. When serving a Free Woman of the North, remember that they are to be treated with the highest of respect. Even though they are not as easily to offend as Mistresses in the South, you should still serve them in tower and not openly sexual. Free Women of the North are held in the highest esteem and you must always honor her status.
Bondmaids are hard-working girls who tend to the fields and herds of bosk and verr. They spin and weave, churn butter, chop wood ... the list goes on and on. They view silk girls as pampered, spoiled fragile creatures who are unwilling and unable to perform the same tasks that a bondmaid views as a natural part of her life. Bondmaids find great pleasure in teasing and taunting these silk slaves so visiting girl from the South should be mindful of their behavior when in the North.
