Healing Charlottesville

Exhibit to illustrate the history of the black community in Charlottesville.

Hi, Blair!   Good work on this.

I am a graphic designer, and in addition to fighting to keep the preschool at Jefferson, I am also interested in exhibit work to illustrate the history of the black community in Charlottesville.   Talk of a museum in the building has gone around, and I want to start now thinking about the graphical interface and informational interface of the exhibits there.

I want to perhaps start in the short-term, try to pull togther some type of portable table-top scale exhibit graphics for taking to meetings and workshops re: Jefferson.   I know Preservation Piedmont has gathered some photos, and I bet others will be submitting info to you as well...let's talk about collaborating.   In the mean time, if someone offers you a precious photo to include, and you scan, try to scan a master file at at least 300 dpi or higher....archive it as a JPEG to reduce the size, but this will be great prep for doing larger-format things, and not having to bug people to pull out their photos again. I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,
