![]() ((As you are all waiting for EWF television to come on, you sit down just in time to find a camera inside an EWF locker room. It is a pretty neat locker room, with a leather couch and TV in the back for the comfort of whoever is using it. We get a pretty good idea of who's locker room this is when we catch sight of a Canadian Flag sitting in the back corner of the room. The camera turns a bit and standing there is Bret "The Hitman" Hart, and next to him is Micheal Cole. Bret is wearing a black t-shirt with the words "HITMAN" across the front in big bold white letters, a black hat that is on backwards, and a pair of blue jeans. Cole is standing there, his hair slicked up with gel, wearing a red "EWF" logo collared shirt. Bret is standing there, not reall smiling, but not frowning either. Just a pleasant day for him. Cole however has a big smile on his face, getting to interview one of wrestling's greats.))
Micheal Cole:Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls of all ages, welcome to EWF television. If you're watching this, I have a GREAT surprise for you. Folks, I'm standing here with former WWE Intercontinental, Tag Team, and WORLD..HEAVYWEIGHT..CHAMPION..BRET "THE HITMAN" HART! Bret, it is just awesome for you to be here.
Bret Hart:Thanks Micheal. The pleasure is all mine.
Micheal Cole:First of all Bret, I know you told us when you first arrived, but how does it feel to be in your wrestling boots again after 3 years of not wrestling?
Bret Hart:I can't stress the fact enough, that it's the best feeling in the world. My father has trained me in wrestling for my entire life. While other kids were out playing football with their friends, me and my friends and brothers were in the Dungeon duking it out and suplexing each other. There isn't anything else I would rather be doing than being in the ring wrestling. Unfortuantely, when WCW was bought out by McMahon he brought the business down with him. After what happened in 97, I wasn't about to go work for him again. So basically, I thought I'd hang up the boots. There was no place I could call home. And without a home there was no point in wrestling. So I lost the drive to do it. Besides, my old body had been taken bumps for 20 years straight, and I needed a break. But then Micheal..not too long ago, the EWF opened up. Now you can call me kind of a risk taker, but for some reason I had a feeling that EWF was going to be great. I don't mean just good, just mediocre, I mean my NEW HOME. So I called up the guys with the suits in ties of EWF and told them that Bret Hart was interested in making his entrance back into the wrestling world in the EWF. I was hired on the spot. And now Micheal, you're looking at me, the EWF's newest and biggest star. And like I said, it's been great. Especially when I came out to all those fans on their feet cheering me. They gave me..Bret Hart..and standing ovation. Right then and there I knew that years of hard work, years of putting my body on the line, years concussions and injuries were worth it. I didn't do it just to be forgotten by the fans. I was immortal Micheal. And not only that..it almost put me to tears. To know that I got the fans respect like that..it could put any man to tears. And the craziest thing about it, is those were American fans. That's another thing that got to me..they weren't Canadian fans. I spent years disrespecting the American fans, making fun of their country, their ways, their appearance..yet they still stood on their feet and told me "You deserve this standing ovation". They put all my insults behind them and said "you deserve THIS". To tell you the truth, it's hard to describe the feeling, but I can say this..when you spend your life in the ring, THAT RIGHT THERE..is what it's all about.
((Bret seems to almost about to tear up again and so does Micheal. They both stand there silent for a few moments before Micheal Cole pulls the mic up to his lips to speak.))
Micheal Cole:You mentioned Vince, and I want to ask you this: why haven't you forgiven him after all these years for what he did to you? This also goes for why you haven't forgiven Shawn Michaels.
Bret Hart:Haha, I knew you'd ask something like this. Well to tell you the truth Micheal, I don't feel like talking about it. I've said all I've needed to out in the ring the other day. You want to know why? Go listen to the tape of me talking. I'm pretty sure you'll find out why. And if you don't...too bad, because talking about Vince right now isn't what I need, or want.
Micheal Cole:What about Shawn Michaels? Not your hatred towards him, but rather what he said about you on Saturday?
Bret Hart:I don't even feel like talking about him either right now to tell you the truth, but I will say this. He said a lot of stuff about me, putting me down, trying to make me feel like I'm not worth standing the in the ring. He called me a has-been..which might be true. I haven't stepped inside that ring in awhile in an actual match, so I might have a little or a lot of ring rust. But maybe I won't be able to shake any of it off, which means I'm a has-been. This may be true. The fact is though, is that I'm giving it my all. The fact is, I'm not coming to EWF holding any new guys down. THE FACT IS, I'm giving %200 to this business, so whether I'm a washed up has-been, or a never-was, or whatever..the fact is, I'm giving it my all. It doesn't matter whether I'm good today, because that's what I'm trying to find out. What matters, is that I'm still entertaining these fans, and I'm giving them everything I got.((Pauses)) Then he said, that Survivor Series 97, even if I didn't get screwed I still would have lost. Ok Shawn, maybe that is true. Maybe you would have beaten me. I guess you might be right, there was good chance you could have won. You beat me at Wrestlemania 12 in the Iron Man match, I can't deny that, and you might have beaten me again. But the thing is SHAWN, you stupid sunuva BITCH, I didn't leave because you beat me. I didn't leave the company because you beat me, BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T! Remember Shawn? Did you forget already that Vince McMahon screwed me? YOU screwed me?! I didn't tap out, you didn't pin me, I didn't yell "I quit, end this match". You put me in the Sharpshooter, and I was taking it, and out of nowhere Vince calls for the bell. Tell me why Shawn. Tell me why. Why'd he call for the bell when I didn't say I quit? Well quite frankly, I don't care. Another thing though Shawn. Like I said, I didn't leave because you beat me. I left because you screwed me. Vince screwed me. Earl Hebner stabbed me in my god damn back...I left because I could go somewhere where I wasn't lied to. Where the boss wasn't going to try and pull a fast one on me. Where co-workers don't go behind my back to take things that were rightfully mine, that I was going to GIVE anyway. I left, because WWF was one screwed up place that wasn't worth my time anymore. Wasn't worth my blood, sweat, and tears. THAT'S why I left. THAT'S why I tucked my tail between my legs and left the WWF.
Micheal Cole:Well do you plan of wrestling the Heart Break Kid?
Bret Hart:I don't plan on fighting anybody right now except Chris Jericho. I know that HBK wants me to challenge him at House of Pain. But you know what? I'm not going to. I may hate him, but I'm not looking to go and beat his ass. I'm not looking to come here and just jump into a World Title. I'm paying my dues just like the rest of them. What gives me the right to just waltz up to Shawn Micheals and demand a shot at him when this is only my first week on the job? So no, I dont plan on wrestling him. But hey, who knows. If somehow I find myself in a match with him, I'll be more then happy to take my foot and stomp his face in.
Micheal Cole:Are you worried that Shawn Micheals and Triple H might attack you? They specifically said that they wanted to get in your business.
Bret Hart:Look, I'm sick of talking about them. I don't have to worry about them, the only thing I have to worry about is my match on Raw. So stick to the questions about Chris Jericho, alright?
((Micheal Cole nods to Bret, and continues on with different questions, not wanting to upset him.))
Micheal Cole:I know you said this already, but what do you think of Chris Jericho and him thinking that he is Larger then Life, and a Living Legend?
Bret Hart:You know Micheal, I've ran into a lot of arrogant people in my lifetime. Hell, we all have our ego's. I used to think that I was the best and that nobody could compare to me. Everybody thinks that at one point or another. But there has usually been a line drawn to where people go from conceited to living in a fantasy world. To think you're the best and nobody can beat you is one thing. But to think you're fantastical things like being a "Living Legend" and "Larger than Life" person is over that line. But you know what? If Jericho wants to think so highly of himself, he can go ahead. But it isn't my head getting deflated when the Excellence of Execution: The Hitman: BRET HART: beats him in the middle of the ring! That's exactly what's going to happen. Does he really think that he can take me one on one in a match and walk out with his hand raised? If he does, I've got the biggest shock in his life Micheal. And that is when I kick him around, ring post to ring post and pin him. It's simple as that. No fancy gimmicks or no extremely bloated heads. Just me knowing that after all this time wrestling, there's no way I'm going to lose. Sure, Chris was taught in the Hart Dungeon, just as I was. But do you think my father taught him everything Stu Hart knows? In the time that he spent down there in my fathers basement, he couldn't have learned that fast. I still haven't even been taught everything my father knows and I've spent my entire life down there. Plus, I'm his own son. All I know, is that I know A LOT more then what he knows, and I can DO a lot more then he can. I'm the best technical wrestler in this business, and there isn't anybody that can sit here and tell me to my face, that they're going to walk all over me. I'll be truthful here, and admit that I can be beaten. I'm not going to say that I'm some demi-god that is impossible to beat, because I can. I can be injured, I'm venurable to everything everybody else is, and I'm sure you all knew that. But the fact is, there is NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, that can kick my ass. People might be able to pin me..hell, maybe Jericho will surprise me and he gets a pin on me. But I guarentee, that I'll give him the biggest run for his money in his life. I will NEVER be squashed just like that, and if you don't believe me, I suggest you people all sit there and watch because I'll prove that to every single one of you every god damned night.
((Bret stands there getting pretty peeved it seems, as Micheal Cole just stands next to Bret not saying a word. Worried that Bret might take him out for no reason, Micheal hesitantly continues with the interview.))
Micheal Cole:Well Bret, I'm afraid that's all the questions I have for today. It's been a great interview.
Bret Hart:Same here Micheal.
Micheal Cole:To find out if Bret Hart does indeed beat Chris Jericho folks, tune into Raw on Wednesday! For now, goodbye.
((The camera switches to another camera inside the room as the one we were looking at them for the interview shuts off. Bret and Micheal Cole both loosen up a little bit after the camera switches, as Micheal takes off his shirt and he has a "RAW IS WAR" shirt on underneath. Bret takes off the hat and shakes his head a bit, then runs his hand through his hair.))
Micheal Cole:Great interview Bret. That's why they call you the best.
Bret Hart:Thanks man. You really improved since the last time I was here.
Micheal Cole:Well, when you do this stuff everyday of your for 6 years, you tend to get pretty good at it.
Bret Hart:So Mike, how are the wife and kids these days?
Micheal Cole:They're pretty good. Listen, I want to tell you something...I think Shawn and HHH aren't bluffing when they say they said they want to get in your business. I think you should watch your back.
Bret Hart:Everybody should watch their backs in this company. Everybody should watch their back wherever they go, because it's people like Shawn and HHH that you know are gonna be the ones to do it from behind.
Micheal Cole:I know that, but that doesn't mean you should let up on watching it. They can be dangerous, just look at what they did to Nash.
Bret Hart:Sunuva bitch deserved it.
Micheal Cole:I'm serious Bret.
((Bret gives a little bit of a chuckle, as Micheal Cole just stands there looking pretty annoyed right now. Bret realizing that Micheal means business, straightens up and pats him on the back.))
Bret Hart:Look, thanks for the heads up Mike. But I can handle myself. There's no way in hell they're gonna hold me down, because I didn't come here just to be driven away. My body can take quite a few more beatings before either of those two are gonna drive me outta here. Besides, everybody hates those two pieces of shit anyway. I'll have the entire locker room watching my back.
Micheal Cole:But do you think anybody would be willing to stick out their neck for you?
Bret Hart:Probably not...but I really don't care though. Just don't worry about me Mike. The Hitman can take care of himself. I don't care if they attack me or not because payback's a bitch and they know it. And they'll be getting a taste of what that's like, Hitman style.
Micheal Cole:Well don't say I didn't warn you.
((Micheal Cole gathers all of his things together then turns to Bret and shakes his hand, nodding to him. He walks past him and heads out of the locker room, leaving Bret all by himself. As he stands there, he thinks back to the days when he was in WWF before Survivor Series 97. The days when the Hart Foundation was the most hated group at the time. American fans flocked just to boo the 5 of them. Bret Hart, Owen Hart, British Bulldog, Brian Pillman, and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. The good old days. Now only 2 of the 5 guys are left, his brother, Pillman, and Davey Smith passed away. He's almost brought to tears when there is a knock at the door. Bret wipes his eyes quickly, then walks over to the door and opens it. Standing there is a small child with a pretty large man next to him.))
Man:Exuse me, Mr. Hart?
Bret Hart:Yeah, what do you want?
Man:I'm wondering if you'd mind giving my son here an autograph. I told him a lot of stories about how great of a wrestler you are and now you're his favorite.
Bret Hart:That so? Well what's your name kid?
Kid:Victor.
Bret Hart:Hi Victor, I'm Bret Hart.
Kid:I know. You're awesome!
Bret Hart:Haha thanks. So, you got a pen and something for me to sign?
Man:Yeah, right here.
((The man takes out a pen and a pretty large poster of Bret "The Hitman" Hart and hands them to the boy, who hands them to Bret Hart who bends down on his knees.))
Bret Hart:Alright...((starts signing)) To my...best fan...Victor...from...The Hitman...Bret...Hart...there you go pal.
Kid:Woooow..
Man:Haha, I think he means thank you.
Bret Hart:Haha, your welcome kid.
Man:Thanks Mr. Hart. You don't know how much this means to me and my boy. This is why you're my favorite.
Bret Hart:Well hey, you want an autograph too?
Man:Nah, I'll just steal my boy's. Haha. Thanks a lot again.
Bret Hart:No problem. Take it easy kid.
Kid:Bye Hitman!
((Bret smiles at the boy as him and his father walk away, the kid with a wild grin on his face. Suddenly Bret gets an idea and pulls his trademark sunglasses out from his gym bag.))
Bret Hart:HEY!
((The man turns around, right as Bret throws the sunglasses. He catches them and looks at them, smiling. No words need to be said, as Bret closes the door behind him. Bret's day is made right there as he finishes packing up his own stuff, and the camera fades away.))
