Selena: Amanda, when did you start singing and what made you
start?
Amanda Oyer: I started singing at age 15 after I became a
fan of Michael Jackson. I sang along with his songs and
discovered I had musical talent.
Selena: How would you describe your music?
Amanda Oyer: I describe it as pop with a heavy Michael
Jackson influence.
Selena: Tell me a little about your songs.
Amanda Oyer: Most of the songs are about love. They show the
good and bad sides of love. There are some slow songs and
upbeat songs. There are some harder edge songs as well.
Selena: What are your influences in singing and in life?
Amanda Oyer: My number one influence in life and in my songs
is Michael Jackson. My other influence is you. You've given
me confidence and the courage to go for my dreams.
Selena: How do you believe your music or you yourself will
make the world a better place?
Amanda Oyer: I want to sing about real life issues and bring
awareness to the public about things that are important to
me. I want to try to make the world a better place with my
music. I want the world to see that everyone does not have
to be the same. I want my music to reflect my own individual
style.
Selena: What would you like the readers and your fans to
know about you?
Amanda Oyer: First of all I want everyone to know that I am
a unique individual. I'm not trying to be something I'm not.
I am a down to earth person and I treat others with respect.
I expect them to do the same. Don't judge me because I am
different.
Selena: What are your plans? Current and future.
Amanda Oyer: Right now I am in the process of recording my
first album. After that is completed I plan to try to get a
recording contract.
Selena: What is it you most wish for? For your singing and
in life.
Amanda Oyer: I want to meet my idol, Michael Jackson. I want
to show him what an impact he's had on my life. Also I would
like you, my best friend, to meet him. I know it is your
dream and you deserve it. I also wish to become a better
person through helping others. I want to make others happy.
Selena: Is there anything you'd like to say that I didn't
mention? Advice, opinions, anything.
Amanda Oyer: I'd like to thank you for your support and
dedication. You're doing a great job as my creative advisor
and manager. I know together we can accomplish anything. I
also would like to thank my fianc� for his love and support.
He has made my life so much better and I love him very much.
Also I would like to thank my friends and family for
believing in me. I'll never forget you. I hope someday I
will make you proud.
