Amaranth Academy of Magic

A Harry Potter RPG

Magical and Non-Magical Sports

Amaranth Academy offers a variety of sports to appeal to both wizards/witches and Muggles. Extra information can be found on the Boards.

*NOTE: Quidditch will be the only game being played for now, the reson being that if there are not enough people to play Quidditch, there's really no point to start either hockey or Baseball. These two sports may be started up as the RPG progresses.*

Quidditch

When?

Quidditch Tryouts begin as soon as the RPG starts. Games begin in October, or when there's enough people to play. To sign your character up for Quidditch, click here.

Where?

Quidditch practises and games take place on the Quidditch Pitch, located behind the school. Team captains must book Quidditch practises in advance.

Who?

Any of the students are eligible to play, however, older students with experience may have more of a chance of being accepted. The team captain will chose who he/she wishes to be on the team.

Other Information

After the teams are selected, Quidditch games will be scheduled randomly, with the admin, and assistant admin deciding what dates the games will be played on. Roleplayers will be notified a week in advance before the game. It is up to the team captain to book a sufficient amount of practises for his/her team.

Roleplayers who sign their characters up for Quidditch must have at least some knowledge on how the game is played, particularly with the position they are playing. If a roleplayer is confused about something, they can click here for basic Quidditch information.

Team captians will always make the first post. This way, there will be no confusion as to what is going on. Each player may then post once, (keeping character control to a minimum, please, unless it is absolutley necessary), until all players have posted. Players may then post randomly once the game is underway.

I will have a different topic set up for students and teachers watching in the crowd to post under.

For minimum confusion, each House will post in their signature color (i.e. if Felina is playing equina, Equina will post in light blue, and Felina in a darker shade of blue). Players are also required to post their character name, house and position at the top of each post.

Students or teachers may volunteer for referee duty by talking to the Headmistress.

The game will continue until the Seeker catches the Snitch. I, or the assistant admin will post the position of the Snitch; however, just because the roleplayer knows the position doesn't mean their character does.

A well-played game requires a certain amount of practise; the more a team practises, the better they will become. It is suggested that teams practise at least once a week.

That's it for now. Remember, this information may be changed, or more may be added to it as I work out how the games are to be played, so make sure you check back often.
