Classes
Amaranth Academy of Magic does not just teach students the basics of wizarding. The school offers courses for the more "practical" side of wizarding, as well as courses that will appeal just as much to muggles as they will to wizards. Some of it's classes, such as cooking, are found at no other school. The following is a list of classes currently taught at Amaranth.
Ancient Runes
Taught by: N/A
Location: Second floor
Mandatory? Yes.
Age ranges of students: 3rd year and up.
Class Description: Students will learn how to decode encrypted messages from ancient texts. Though this class is challenging, many wizarding jobs require at least some knowledge of this subject.
Astronomy
Taught by: N/A
Location: 8th and last floor, on the highest peak of the highest tower of the school. The classroom has a wraparound balcony to allow students to stargaze.

Age ranges of students: All.
Class description: Students will learn in this class about the universe and it's mythologies. Once a week, students are required to meet with the teacher after class (prefferably at night) on the wraparound balcony for field lessons in stargazing.
Care of Magical Creatures
Taught by: N/A
Location: A small cottage beyond the Quidditch pitch and near the forest. Most classes are taught outdoors.

Class Description: Here, students will learn to take care of various magical and non-magical animals. Students thinking of a career working with animals are encouraged to take this class every year.
Charms

Location: 3rd floor
Mandatory: Yes, for all years.
Age range of students: All
Class Description: Students learn their basic spells in this class.
Cooking
Taught by: Prof. Izumo Ishidaio
Location: Beside the kitchens, facing northeast on the main floor.

Age range of students: All
Class description: Students learn the fine art of cooking in this class-with the help of magic, of course. Izumo Ishidaio is a world-famous chef, and also the creator of Sakura Tea.
Flying-Basic and Advanced
Taught by: N/A
Location: Quidditch pitch, behind the school
Mandatory? Only for first years. Advanced courses are available for second year students and older.
Age range of students: 1st years for Basic Flying, 2nd years and older for Advanced Flying.
Class Description: This class teaches students the basics of riding a broomstick. Advanced courses are suggested to any student who wishes to play Quidditch on a house team.
Herbology

Location: In the greenhouses on the northwest side of the school

Class Description: Students are taught how to grow and stew remedies of illnesses.
History of Magic

Class Description: This class covers the history of Magic, from Prehistoric times to present day.

Class Description: Students are taught how to turn one object into another.
