Appearance:

Bernie looks 100% Italian. His complexion is tanned; black, shabby hair; blue eyes; large hands; clumsy feet. He's just hit a growth spurt, towering over well over half his peers and appears slightly intimidating with his broad frame. Bernie's clothes are worn and tattered; due to the small amount he owns, he wears many of the same things over in a short amount of time, especially a somewhat attractive button-up shirt he lifted in a department store when he was nine (he's magically enlarged it twice since he's attended Penn State U).

Personality Quirks:

Bernie is a well-learned pickpocket. Though he has all he needs at the school, he often finds himself unable to resist the temptation to steal from his classmates. He hates his younger sister and cats; he's very protective of the items of which he has stolen; homework is his life; Bernie is a very subdued person, fancying a night of solitude in his dorm rather than socializing with other people.

Family Life:

Bernie's father is a small time accountant; his mother, full-blooded Italian, was working on a law degree when Bernie was born. Expenses forced her to drop out and take up waitressing. For separate reasons, the Sanders adults were repulsed by their son and daughter, Bernie's sister, Bernadetta. Etta's a quiet girl, even in comparison to Bernie. She annoyed Bernie since birth� first with her constant crying, then with her spoiled insistencies that he play dolls with her, marking her a childhood enemy.

History:

Bernie and his younger sister were abandoned at a fish hatchery in New York City when Bernie was seven, his sister five. As a gift to himself on his ninth birthday, he abandoned his bratty sister in Central Park. Up until he turned eleven, Bernie had dodged police and made a living pickpocketing and shoplifting, sleeping in deserted theaters and buildings.

He dreams of living a life of luxury, and marrying a supermodel.
