My AA Story!
Some might ask, "Who am I and what do I have to do with knowing anything about AA?"  I have been playing Axis & Allies since it hit the selves in 1984.  I, like most, just went at it and played 10, 12, 14 hours games for years, not really gaining a handle on the game until about 1989.  That is when a great board gamer friend, Todd Vander Pyulm from So.Cal., showed me the light.  He was a devastating player, now retired.   Not long after playing AA with Todd, we started showing up at GEN CON (when it was in Milwaukee) as partners and really backing some good smack talk about our AA play.  Just about that time, Rich Baker of Wizards was then running the Mega Tournament at GEN CON for TSR.  It was a nice tournament but Rich,
openly confessed, he was not an AA guru.  That is when I stepped in.  He asked if I would like to take over the AA tournaments for TSR, later to become AH/Wizards.  I openly abliged...
Since, I have worked with Larry Harris himself on the Revised rules, Rob Daviau (Pacific creator) and many others at Wizards, in the attempt to make the FTF tournament at GEN CON Indy what they are today.  I have been running the tournament(s) at GEN CON since 1993 as an independant GM and hope that there are many more years to come...
