| The BWS Kelmscott Hooters would like to announce that contrary to popular belief and swirling rumours, Inspirational skipper Aaron Winder 'Licious" WILL be suiting up and leading his team in their top of the table clash with The Gunners at Foxy's multi-purpose Sports Stadium, Albany Highway Kelmscott this Thursday night at 7.30pm!!! Winder was believed to be going to miss the Hooter's biggest clash since last years elimination final due to other commitments, but some quick talking and great work from PG Ross Williams and Basketball Co-Ordinator Rick saw the match get rescheduled from 6.45pm to 7.30pm! The game is of mammoth importance to both sides as they look to wrest outright top spot from the other, as it stands both teams have an identical 8-0 win loss record with The Gunners holding 1st place on percentage. With only one other meeting between the 2 teams, the significance of a win here is not lost on Williams; "Look, it's no secret we started the season a little slowly, we allowed teams we SHOULD of been blowing away hang with us for 3/4's, but I think as evidence by our improving %, we have started to really bury teams when we get a lead early." "The difference is, The Gunners have had this killer instinct since last season and that's why they are the reigning champs, and it's why they beat us in last years playoffs, and if we don't make a statement here and now, then we really put ourselfs behind the 8 ball." "We don't want it to come down to splitting the series with these cats, and then missing top spot on percentage, so we'll be giving it 100% Thursday night, needless to say we're bloody stoked that the Skip will be there to lead us". |
