Unexpected Kiss

I wanted there to be more in that kiss.
I expected the world and my heart to stop.
So many nights I fell asleep dreaming it,
I could feel the electricity in the air.

The kiss came unexpectedly,
I don't know the reason -
You didn't say any words.
My lips touched yours, but
where was the spark ?

Was this really happening,
Did it really happen ?
The moment came and went,
The only word to describe it: surreal.

Now I cry at night
Not for our forbidden love,
Or my desire to be kissed again.
I cry for an empty heart
That is without yearning, without passion.
I cry for that unexpected kiss
That I expected so much from.
