Here you can find pictures of my bike as it is being built. It is a 1972 sportster. The engine is a technically an XLCH, which I've heard stands for Competition Highway, or Competition Hot. It has some performance camshafts, and it has a kickstart only for starting. I had the heads ported and polished for better airflow in the combustion chamber. I have a S&S carb on it.
Here is a picture of my oil tank, which I made myself from aluminum. I had to design and build it from scratch, and I had all the seams welded together. I chose to do this because the parts catalog is very vague when it comes to describing frame part numbers and oil tank part numbers...therefore, I could not figure out which oiltank would fit into the frame that I had. Essentially, I didnt know what oil tank to search for that would fit. Oiltank.jpg
Here is another picture that was taken of my bike when it was sitting in the garage this spring. XL1.jpg
Here is the page where you can see my tank & fenders being painted. Paint
Here are some pics of my bike on the work bench in the garage as it is being put together:
And here is a pic of my bike showing where all the electrical wires come in together, and also the rear of the oil tank. This area is right under the seat, under the fender and right in front of the rear wheel. xlelec1.jpg
