Section G:

Resources:  (Meals / Lunch / Free / Senior Citizens)

The NYC DEPARTMENT FOR THE AGING in cooperation with the NYC HOUSING AUTHORITY funds senior centers throughout the five boroughs.  Nourishing meals are available free of charge with anticipated, but not required donations of 50 cents per meal to all seniors residing within the communities where DFTA sponsored senior centers are found.

Resources:  (Mental Health / Treatment / Clinical)

Public hospitals throughout the five boroughs provide clinical treatment to mentally ill persons including the homeless.  They also arrange for entitlements, housing placement, medication, and aftercare support.

Resources:  (Mental Health / Treatment / Voluntary Hospitalizations / Emergency)

HCSNL is an interactive public service publication featuring news, events, resources, jobs, and free advertising to promote local economic development.  It is a project of HYBRID COMMUNITY SERVICES, and is distributed in paper and web formats each month.  This tool supports a wide range of social programs including the "Emergency Intervention Mental Hygiene Warrant Program," which provides clinical case management, chart documentation, psychosocial assessments, case conferences, generation of incident reports, documentation of medication non-compliance, and emergency intervention to obtain mental hygiene warrants seeking evaluation of psychiatric out patients who are experiencing de-compensation which renders them a danger to self or others.  Target subjects receive free legal counsel, hearings before a Supreme Court Judge, and a potential mental health evaluation by qualified psychiatrists during a voluntary visit to a downstate psychiatric hospital if needed.  The hospital can optionally arrange for entitlements, housing placement, medication, and aftercare support where required.  Patient rights, and adherence to procedural guidelines are maintained throughout this process.  This course and outcome typically protects target subjects from physical or prosecutorial (legal) harm.  You don't have to visit a community center or wait in long lines.  We send the counselor to your home.  Contact William Frias at:
