It is a project of HYBRID COMMUNITY SERVICES, and is distributed in paper and web formats each month. This tool supports a wide range of economic and social programs including the "Business and Consumer Advocacy Project," which assists businesses and consumers by helping to resolve consumer complaints. We try to broaden communications between involved parties hoping to arrive at mutual accords. The aim is to avert litigation or boycotts that could potentially hurt local businesses or consumers. We are not third party debt collectors. Instead, we are a New York City organization that does not operate at a profit. As such, we are exempt from otherwise implied liability under FDCPA section 1692 et seq. There is a $350 fee required to offset labor and operating costs because we do not have private, government, or foundation funding for this program.
