| Do you worry? About the unexpected? Going out at night? Your children? Traveling alone? Death? Or just going through day to day life? If this describes some of your fears, you are not alone. Many times growing up, I was subjected to bullies and multiple attackers. When my wife, Michelle, and I were dating the attackers would be waiting for us. I knew I could streetfight ok, but not with a great amount of confidence. Altercations were inevitable, causing us great fear and anxiety. I looked over my shoulder, whenever I left the house. Don't think that the violent crimes we see on TV and read about in the newspapers couldn't happen to you. Avoiding violent situations is best, however, that may not always be possible. What would happen if you died unexpectedly? Everyone thinks about death and what comes after it. By studying the Bible, we learned how Satan plots against us in the spiritual realm and would like for us to worry. This tactic of the enemy can make us weak and ineffective. Worry and anxiety can cause uneasiness, apprehension, and intense fear. In the book of Matthew 6:34 it is written: do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. The warrior'speace of mind comes from God. Psalm 27:1-3 states: The LORD is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid? When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.Though an army beseige me, my heart will not fear: though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. NIV 2Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and self-discipline. NIV In 1Timothy 4:7-8 it is written: train yourself toward godliness (piety)(keeping yourself spiritually fit). For physical training is of some value (useful for little). but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come. Michelle and I, are the guardians of Full Armor Martial Arts. God gave us this vision to prepare and properly train warriors to be victorious against any spiritual or physical attack. Each rank in FAMA'S system is based, not only, on physical training using North American Arnis principles, but also, spriritual training based on the six pieces of the Armor of God. These six pieces of armor are outlined in Ephesians 6:10-20. & quote ;In conclusion, be strong in theLord (be empowered through your union with Him); draw your strength from Him (that strength which His boundless might provides). Put on God's whole armor, the armor of a heavy/armed soldier which God supplies), that you may be able successfully to stand up against (all) the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending only with physical opponents), but against the despotisms, against the powers, against (the masterspirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkeness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere. Therefore, put on God's complete armor that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day (of danger), and having done all (the crisis demands), to stand (firmly in your place), stand therefore (hold your ground), having tightened the Belt of Truth around your loins, and having put on the Breastplate of Integrity and of moral rectitude and righstanding with God, and having shod your feet in preparation (to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the GoodNews (of the Gospel of Peace). Lift up over all the (covering) Shield of Saving Faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked (one). And take the Helmet of Salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times (on every occasion and every season) in the Spirit, with all (manner of) prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perserverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God's consecreated people). And (pray) also for me, that (freedom of) utterance may be given me,that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the Good News (theGospel), For which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain (in prison). Pray that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do. To summarize this article, we would like to say FAMA training helps us to live a victorious life by overcoming the situations that arise every day. To W.A.R. is to be Willing, Able, and Ready. We are confident that we have greatly increased our chances for survival in any circumstance. As Christians, we do not have to fear death. Jesus faced death at Calvary & won the greatest victory. Our souls and spirits live forever. Where will yours be? Heaven or hell? We pray that you realize your personal need for salvation hrough, Jesus Christ, the ultimate warrior. |
