| Machine Tool Technology 2 Semesters 6 Credits (11-12) |

| Beginning with raw metal, students are trained to create projects such as a sine bar, vise, transfer stand and other precisely designed tools. Students learn shop safety and tool useage, and the operation of engine lathe, drill press, milling machine, CNC milling machine, surface grinder, OD grinder, and pedestal grinder. The students will learn to use measuring tools, read blueprints and use related math. Students are trained to create tools for blueprints. Students may earn college credit during the class through both Ivy Tech and Vincennes University. The program can be taken one or two years. Successful students are able to enter the workforce in skilled positions, or may choose to continue their educaton in the field. During the final semester, a student may be able to intern with an area company learning more about the machine tool industry, This course is also of four courses that can be selected for participation in the Idustrial Maintenance program. | ||||||||||||||||||
