| Design/Graphic Technology 2 Semesters 6 Credits (11-12) |

| This course is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers or future training in the design field of their interest. The first section of this course explores all areas of design and the basics needed for further research and application based training. The second section explores activities in design that allows the student to apply the basics studied in the first section of the course. Each student is required to devolp an on-going portfoilio of work that can be displayed in both traditional and electronic form. The three areas of specialization are: Graphic Design (page layout, illustration, and digital photography), Technical Graphics (CAD, 3D modeling, product & packaging design) Multimedia (animations, presentations, and web design). Students my be placed in this class by their guidence councelor from thier home school. The classes meet Monday through Friday 8:45a.m. to 11:30a.m. and 12:05p.m. to 2:50p.m. Certificates of Thechnical Acheivement and articulation agreements have been developed for students wishing to pursue these areas. Field-trips are required and the school year usually starts off with an all-day field-trip to Graph Expo in Chicago. Design Graphic Technology students may also participate it the Technology Student Association (TSA), a national association for middle and high school students.
