Building Trades
2 Semesters 6 Credits (11-12)
The students enrollded in Building Trades Technogoly cancentrate on construction projects such as home building and home additions. Depending on the annual projects, students can be exposed to the complete construction process, beginning with a foundation and working unitl the house is move-in ready, They will learn carpentry, electrical, masonry, and painting trades. Students will complete both rough and finish carpentry, learn to roof, apply exterior finishes, install eletrical service and may learn to do some landscaping. A good manual dexterity is essential. Prospective students would benefit from taking classes in construction technology and drafting. Additionally, basic marhematiic skills would be beneficial.
    Program completers may find jobs in the contruction industry or with trade relates contractors, at lumber years or related industies or move foroward to enter post secondary trade related apprenticeship programs.
