Auto Collision Repair Technology
2 Semesters 6 Credits (11-12)
In Auto Collision & Repair Technology students will learn basic safety in the shop, body shop tools useage, auto construction, body repair and finishing, sheet metal welding, sheet metal replacement, glass repair, basic operation of the body shop, estimating customer repairs, and job seeking skills. Students who are interested in this class need to be willing to work hard, get dirty, and be creative with a good eye for color. Students will allergies to thinners, dust, or plastic fillers are not recommended for this course. A student may enroll in this program for one or two years. During the final semester, students can apply for an internship with a related business more experience. In the second semester, students also have an option to bring in thier own vehicle to repair (as the curriculum allows). Costs of their own repairs are at the students expense.
      Through SkillsUSA students can participate in a variety of skills contests and leadership competitions. Successful students may earn valuable college scholarships and the opportunity to travel to conventions.
