In northern Delaware and the region, there are lots of science-related trips you can take and interesting places that you can visit. Go ahead--plan a trip, on a day off from school, on a weekend, or during a holiday. You can enjoy a new learning experience, spend some quality time with your family, and get CREDIT points for science class. Check it out. This could be fun!
The same rules for EXTRA CREDIT apply for trips: 1. All regular classwork & homework must be completed/turned in. 2. Suggested activities and projects carry from 1-5 points. You may earn up to 15 points of XC per marking period. 3. EXTRA CREDIT must be completed and turned in one week prior to the end of the marking period. 4. EXTRA CREDIT is not a substitute for doing quality work on daily class work and/or regular homework. F.Y.I.: I have a very broad view on what constitutes a science-related trip or experience. If you have any questions, just ask me.

Members of your family can help you in the following ways: > Decide where you will go--select a family field trip. > Plan the trip: decide who, what, where, and when. > Provide any necessary transportation. 6th graders don't drive! > Come along for the ride and to guide and supervise. > Provide documentation of your trip--a parent signature, a note, or an e-mail message, that accompanies your written report of the trip, will validate your XC points. > Get a field trip report form from me, before or after you go.
I am always looking for ideas for kids! Occasionally I will post or send home information about science activities that are happening in our area. Please help me out by letting me know about any upcoming science events for kids and their families or special trips that you recommend. You might learn about an event through your job, your church, your neighborhood, a youth group, by e-mail, or from a local magazine or newspaper. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Please E-mail me or drop me a line.
