Embroidery - White Oval Mat When we lived in Portugal I took a Portuguese Embroidery class. Little did I know that you can not buy the correct thread anywhere else in the world it seems. Found a similar thread in Italy, bought heaps, so hopefully it will be enough to finish all the pieces I bought to embroider before we left Portugal.
This is a placemat sized oval mat - probably will be for an end table or something similar when I finish. I've put photos of two pieces I finished just so you can see how the embroidery is cut after the stitching is complete. This is a nice small project to always have on hand. This particular piece is always in my purse, in a small vinyl zip pouch, for those waiting rooms for doctor/dentist appointments, etc.
