Nordic Multi-Patterned Knit Pullover

Pattern from:  Country Handcrafts, Holiday issue in 1989 or 1990
Using:  Bernat ultrawash worsted 10% superwash wool

I have no real plan for who I'm making this for.  I started it when living in Japan and I stumbled upon a store that sold yarn, etc.  So I looked through one of my magazines that I had recently received in the mail, found a pattern I liked, returned to the store, and bought lots of "Clover" brand knitting trinkets - stitch holders, circular needles, point protectors, needle cases, etc., and of course, yarn.  I had never seen any of the Clover items in the states before, so they were all new to me and I just thought they were so neat!

When I got married a few years later, I thought I would continue this for DH, however, a few years into our marriage, he commented that he had always ended up breaking up with anyone who knitted him anything.  Rather illogical thinking, wasn't it, since he had to have not been with anyone else to be married to me anyway, but hey, he thinks differently.  I decided then it would be for me, as originally planned, even though it appears it might be a bit large.  Oh well, I like big sweatshirts & sweaters.  Besides, I'm sure that the only thing holding DH and I together anyway is the simple fact that I haven't knitted him anything yet, because I sure can't place my finger on any other reason why we are together!
