NZ Teachers

My name is Nina I was a Health and Beauty member in England and completed a 2 year full time training, then taught centres around Kent before coming to NZ. Initially I was teaching 7 centres a week around the Auckland area, but now have one in the City, also Pukekohe and Hamilton. Over the years I can see health benefits to the members as they exercise and move in a relaxed atmosphere and stimulate their memories. The social companionships are also very important and personally I am grateful for the many friendships I've made over the years. I have been fortunate and able to return to England every 5 years for the shows in the Royal Albert Hall. Afterwards I attend the Teachers Refresher Course and keep up to date with new ideas

My name is Ailsa. I teach classes in the Eastern areas of Auckland. Classes are graded depending on the ability of class members. I have a back-ground of dance with R.A.D qualifications to teacher level. On joining Health & Beauty many years ago I found the "Bagot Stack System" of movement an opportunity to continue with movement and dance in the form of sensible and rewarding exercises for the adult body. I have travelled to England and Ireland to both perform and teach and to also attend a teacher refresher course.I have been involved in Tutoring of "New Teachers " in N.Z over the past 10 years. My classes cater for all ages, and at the present I have three centres including more advanced sections, and I keep up with the latest trends of music and movement. My classes are Fun.

My name is Carol. I started H&B Exercise classes on leaving school in England and soon appreciated the benefits of good posture, co-ordination and new friendships. So others could also benefit I took the two year part-time training course and commenced teaching in 1993 and now I have three centres, two on the North Shore and one in West Auckland. I also enjoy horseriding and geology but most of all I appreciate seeing the difference H&B Exercise makes to women's lives.

My name is Beryl I have been a member of Health and Beauty Exercise NZ since the early 70’s and have enjoyed the physical benefits of doing the classes as well as the associated camaraderie of many friendships and social activities. I trained as a teacher in 1996-98, gaining the Bagot Stack Teacher’s and Extend diplomas. In 1999 I traveled to Ireland with 2 other teachers to celebrate the League of Health’s 65th anniversary in Dublin. In 2000 I was part of the team that performed at the Royal Albert Hall for The Fitness Leagues’ 70th anniversary. At present I take an evening class in Manurewa focusing on posture, stretching, flexibility and rhythmic movement. Extended movement using clubs and other apparatus is introduced.

My name is Cheryl Forgie of 67 Uxbridge Road Howick Auckland New Zealand Ph/Fax 09-5374267 As a recent arrival to the organisation in 1993,it soon became obvious to me that here was a form of exercise, which offered full body work that complemented my dancing background. A 2yr part-time training course became available, and since graduating have run 2 classes. I realise it was one of the best moves I ever took to pass the aims and ideals of our Founder onto other women, who are looking after their own health and wellbeing. Music is one of my many interests, so classes are designed around a wide range of rhythms and styles, from classical to jazz to modern. Variations on the basics of our syllabus work, add variety to the class. Ribbons and some sequence work and this year, chi-ball, are also included. I do have other interests when time allows-gardening, hobby crafts, golf, my cat and my husband , not necessarily in that order!

Hi. My name is Raewyn Elmes. I am a qualified teacher of Health & Beauty Exercise NZ taking an afternoon class and an evening class. I have belonged to the H & B movement for a number of years as a member and then qualifying as a teacher in 1998. Over the years being a busy mother of four sons I have particularly enjoyed the involvement with women’s exercise and the friends I have made through the classes. I believe in the Bagot-Stack principles for maintaining a healthy body and mind. I am married and live on one of Auckland’s east coast beaches. My interests include gardening, books, music, movies, beach life, travel (when possible) and family commitments. Phone 09 534 2610 Email mailto:[email protected]

Hi, I'm Glenda, and was involved with H&B Exercise in my teens, and of course loved it so much, saw the benefits, trained and became a qualified teacher in 1997. I come from a dance background with the Royal Academy of Ballet. Health and Beauty Exercise is worldwide and I was fortunate to take part, and choreographed a New Zealand item performed at celerations in the Royal Albert Hall in London 2000. Keeping fit is an essential part of life, with the latest music of course!
