UNBOUND was formed in 1992. Ed, Mike, Charlie and I had all played together in a number of projects over the years. Randy had also played in many Cincinnati bands but somehow we had never gotten together. When we had our first rehearsal we listened to some originals that Mike, Charlie, and I had written in our previous band as sort of a starting point. By the end of that rehearsal we had written AND recorded UNBOUND's first song "Overdrive"! We knew at that point that we had something special. None of us before had found the combination of writing skills and styles that came together in UNBOUND. Over the following months we went on a writing frenzy. It was exciting to have all this at our disposal! The writing continues to this day. Unbound has enough material for at least two more CDs. In order to have success in the clubs we had to pick up some cover material to go along with our originals. We picked up some cool stuff like, Queensryche, Metallica, Triumph, Kansas, Rush, Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, STP, Zappa, Jackyl, Creed, Tesla, Journey, Aerosmith and many more. Mike has recently left Unbound and we've been lucky enough to bring on Duane Harmon, a well established guitarist in this area, to take Mike's place. Duane's talents seem to be a perfect fit for UNBOUND. Things are progressing nicely and we look forward to working with Duane for a long time to come!!
UNBOUND is currently finishing work on our second CD "The Other Side". We decided to go with FJM Studios in Dayton, Ohio.
Our first CD "UNBOUND", a J-Bird Records release, was recorded at Home Recording Studios in Middletown, Ohio which is run by Geno Stewart. Geno had a big part in producing and engineering the CD as did Eddie, with a little help from myself, Rich and the rest of UNBOUND.
