| HISTORIC BAPTIST DOCTRINE ____________ Because They Were Not His Sheep |
| Yes, you and I were both chosen before the foundation of the world by God (Ephesians Chapter 1)
In 2 Thessalonians 2:13, we were chosen from the beginning to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. Jesus told some that they do not believe, BECAUSE they were not His sheep (John 10:26). That puts being a sheep before believing. Jesus said - "And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd " (John 10:16). This statement show that there are sheep that exist, that do not believe yet and they SHALL hear His voice. Jesus said - " All that the Father gives me, shall come to me." (John 6:37) Q. Who are the ones that will here His voice? A. His sheep, so those that are not His sheep will not here His voice, BECAUSE they are NOT HIS SHEEP. _______________ Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. In this verse, we know that the wind refers to the Holy Spirit. The word "listeth" mean will, so the wind blows were it wills, not man wills. The Holy Spirit gives life to whom it will and so it is with everyone that is born of God or the Spirit. This is why that salvation is of the Lord and the faith and belief of the truth is from God. It is God that chooses and causes a person to believe - Psa 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple. _______________ In John Chapter 17, Jesus pray to the Father for those that He has given Him out of the world, not for the world.
