| HISTORIC BAPTIST DOCTRINE __________________ Inside Of Every Person There Is The Knowledge Of God |
| Deep down inside of every person there is the knowledge of God, the Creator. The evidence is all around us. How does one look at the stars, the Moon, the Sun and the complexity of the human eye and still say that there is no God? The wickedness of one's heart does not like to retain the knowledge of the true God and so man suppresses this truth, even within himself. For that is the nature of man.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, Rom 1:19 because the thing which may be known of God is clearly revealed within them, for God revealed it to them. Rom 1:20 For the unseen things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being realized by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, for them to be without excuse. Rom 1:21 Because, knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, neither were thankful. But they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22 Professing to be wise, they became fools Rom 1:23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds, and four-footed animals, and creeping things. Rom 1:24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves. Rom 1:25 For they changed the truth of God into a lie, and they worshiped and served the created thing more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For someone to know God, He would have to reveal Himself to that person. God does this at His choosing. Luk 10:22 All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him. Joh 5:21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. Creation does reveal that there is God the Creator, but to know who the Creator is and to know Him personally. He would have to reveal Himself to you. The reason that God would have to reveal Himself to someone is because it is not in man to seek God. God would have to draw him and reveal Himself to him, because man is spiritually dead and understanding God has to be spiritually discerned, which is a work of God. Without the work of God in someone's life, to him, the preaching of the Gospel of Christ is foolishness, but to us that are saved, it is the power of God. Psa 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
