Petersborough, ON

August 15, 1952

August,1952 Location: Fairly positive I was enroute from Toronto to Petersborough, Ontario, Canada, possibly heading northerly on route 115. Conditions: Daytime, low dark clouds, flat land on left side of highway leading to distant hill top of which seemed above the clouds. No sunlight visible. Window of car rolled down -no reflections possible. I was not wearing sun glasses. As I was gazing at this scenery a dark object came down out of the dark cloud, leveled off and shot up through the cloud. It's shape was of the inverted saucer on top of another saucer type. No rudder or wings visible and silent. I shouted to my friend who was from Petersborough, Canada to look. I don't think he saw it as he wore rather thick glasses and had never driven a car. I would judge the distance from us to the object with the hill in the background to be not more than one mile. I had been in and out of the marines twice. Had observed dive bombings along the western shore of the Red Sea and straffing and bombing in Korea, all these planed clearly had wings and rudders as well as very audible engines.

Last year I had x-rays taken after an accident at work. It shows the vertebrae in my neck that has been fused which shouldn't be that strange. Except for the fact that I've never had any operations. When I was a young boy, I had what the doctors thought was sever arthritis in my back. It hurt so much that I had trouble walking. I recall men, dressed in black, that used to take me out of my room at night while my parents slept. They would perform tests on me and it was most always on my spinal cord. If I tried to scream out and wake my parents, the dark doctors would leave before my father could find a trace of them. I was then warned by these doctors that I should never speak of them or else I could be in great danger. The treatments continued for a while then finally just stopped. I've never had any problems with my back after that and have been able to carry on a regular life. Well, regular except for the fact I have fused discs in my neck and back dating back to 1956, and these marks I have on my back.

Sudbury, Ontario

Date: 1952
Time: Not given

For many years I have wanted to document what little experience I or members of my family have had with either ufos or paranormal matters.

My earliest  experience occurred in May or June of 1952 when I lived in Sudbury, Ontario. I was in grade two at the time and had unfortunately broken my leg. Due to the huge, heavy cast I wasn't able to walk and had to miss the last two months of school to sit in front of my living room picture window doing home schooling or reading. I remember staring out the window on one bright sunny afternoon and seeing a large silver coloured globe (with a line of little windows around the middle of the circumference arranged horizontally) travel slowly from right to left across my field of vision to
disappear behind the house across the street. I recall shouting for my mother to come and see the "spaceship" for that is what it looked like to me, but she arrived after it had already left our sightline.

Several years later, in 1962 I recall just finishing my shower early one summer evening and hearing a tremendous sound of smashing, splintering wood coming from just outside the bathroom door. Upon immediately  opening the door I was greeted by the sight of the remains of the heavy 3/4 inch
thick cover to the attic access lying in numerous pieces all over the hall floor.

Apparently other members of my family who were within sight of the hatch cover said it rose up several feet into the attic space and crashed down with tremendous force all of its own accord. I moved to southern California early in 1963 to go to college and was told by my mother that the same
thing happened again a few months after I left. Later that year the rest of my family moved to southern California.

In August of 1971 my younger brother, his then girlfriend (now his wife) and a friend visiting from Vancouver were returning home to Newbury Park (Ventura County near the Los Angeles County border) late at night (1 a.m.)after having spent the whole day at Disneyland. They were travelling north on the Ventura Freeway(Hwy 101)close to the Wendy Drive turnoff to Newbury Park (just before the Grade)when they observed a bright light hovering over a field just to the West of the freeway. As they were going to turn off the freeway at the Wendy Drive offramp anyway, they decided to stop at the side of the road once they were off the freeway to further observe the strange light. My brother described it as bright, white and stationary.

After a few minutes the light suddenly got brighter, seemed to expand and shot straight up at such  a high rate of speed that it was almost impossible to guage how fast it was going. He said it literally took only a few seconds to disappear high into the night sky. During their observation there was no apparent sound (other than freeway traffic) nor was there any disturbance of the air when it suddenly accelerated out of sight.
