I sat there in the park
Letting everything drift out of my mind.
A yellow patch of sunlight breaking through the treetops
Shines warmly on my bare feet.
I could feel the moist earth between my toes
And the ground beneath me,
But I still felt strangely disconnected.
Looking up from my hands,
I see a familiar face staring back at me.
A pair of troubled green eyes
Overwhelm the girls face
With a sense of restless sorrow.
Even though her mouth is smiling,
Its obviously a transparent front.
I pick up a rock, rippling it off the lakes surface.
The water shimmers and my reflection disappears.
There is no other girl, but only me.
