His Majesty King I. Faruk

Born at the Abidin sarayi, Cairo, on 11 February 1920 at 10:30 p.m., and educated privately and at Royal Military Academy in Woolwich. Styled Prince of Saiid until his accession. Succeeded upon the death of his father on 28 April 1936. Reigned under the Regency of HRH Prince Mehmet Ali Tevfik until he assumed full ruling powers on 29 July 1937. Abdicated in favour of his son and went into exile in Italy on 23 July 1952. He died at Rome on 18 March 1965 and was buried firstly at Imam-i Şafii Türbesi, Cairo.

In 1974, upon the personal request of HM Queen Farida, Mr Sadat allowed the re-burial of his remains in the Rifaii Royal Mosque at Cairo.

Married at Kubbe sarayi, Cairo, on 20 January 1938 (divorced 1948), Farida (aka Safinaz), born at Alexandria, on 5 September 1921, died at Cairo, in October 1988, daughter of HE Yusuf Zulficar Paşa and Zeynep Hanim Sait.
Married at Abidin sarayi, Cairo, on 6 May 1951 (divorced 2 February 1954) Nariman Sadik, born at Cairo on 31 October 1934.

Children
HRH Princess Feriyal. Born at Alexandria on 17 November 1938, married Jean-Pierre Perreten. Her Royal Highness now lives in Le Chatel, Bex, in Canton Vaud, Switzerland.
HRH Princess Fevziye. Born at Alexandria on 7 April 1940. Her Royal Highness remained unmarried, and died on 27 January 2005 at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois in Lausanne (buried on 30 January 2005 at Rifaii Royal Mosque, Cairo).
HRH Princess Fadia. Born at Abidin Sarayi, Cairo, on 15 December 1943, died at Pully, Switzerland, on 28 December 2002 (buried on 4 January 2003 at Rifaii Royal Mosque, Cairo), married at London on 17 February 1965 Pierre Orloff.
HM King II. Ahmet Fuat, born at Abidin Sarayi, Cairo, on 16 January 1952, married in Paris (civilian) 16 April 1976, Dominique-France Robert Loeb, and in Monaco (religious) 5 October 1977, after converting to Islam under the name of Fadila, deprived of the style and title of HRH Princess by her husband's decree dated 6 March 2002.
