Love Me
I absolutely LOVED this poem, and I think it would be good to use for a woman to say as her wedding vows.  Don't know if the author had an intended use or not..
Tonight will you hold my hands?
Will you open your heart with love,
In that time honored tradition of woman and man?
I ask for the stars, but I desire the moon,
So will you bring me the sky?
Tonight we can just understand without words or explanations,
Why we are here together.
I'm not asking you for sex or passionate romance,
I am asking for the purest most simple kind of love,
Love that burst from within you, that makes you laugh,
And cry in the same breath.
I'm asking for what poets write of,
And for what the critics of the universe have been baffled by for centuries.
Will you hold my hands tonight,
And feel the joy for the simple fact that they're my hands?
Can we sit side by side and know that our maker planned this moment just for us?
I'm asking you to be strong and weak, in one second,
I'm asking you to withhold nothing from me,
Not your deepest fears or your most childish desire.
I am asking you, no begging you,
To push and pull,
To climb and fall,
To grasp and let go all at the same time,
I am asking you to love me.
