Task 1-14 - Best Friend 4 Scrapbook Page

1.  Your fourth project for your Best Friend is to prepare a small scrapbook for them.  Scrapbooks are filled with pictures and captions.  The captions give details about the image.

2.  Three images.  For this scrapbook, you will find or create 3 images of your Best Friend in action.  These images should be of your Best Friend doing something, not just a portrait.  These images may not be the same ones you used on the timeline (Task 1-13).  If you have difficulty finding action images that include your Best Friend, you may use images that your Best Friend is not specifically shown in, but would have been involved with (e.g. battle scene, university he founded).  You will photocopy, download or draw the images.

3.  Research images and footnote.  Find out all you can about the images and how your Best Friend was involved with them.  You must have a separate Research Card for each image.  Write Research Cards in phrases (not in complete sentences) as you research the images.

4.  Write captions.  Write a caption for each image.  Captions are brief but clear, and are not in complete sentences.  Captions should accomplish at least one and maybe two purposes (1) make it clear what this image is about and/or (2) grab the readers attention. Each caption must have a footnote.

5.  Annotated Footnotes.  On the back of your page, you will list your footnotes (in proper MLA format).  Under each footnote, you will annotate information about the images. Your annotations should be in complete sentences, and include -
  a. Describe the image.
  b. What action is taking place in the image?
  c. How is your Best Friend involved in the image?
  d. What might your Best Friend be feeling or thinking about the action in the    image?

6.  Format.  A sample layout is on the back of this page.  Of course, you will want to dress up the scrapbook page (the front)to make it visually appealing.

7.  Project is due Friday, Sep 24.
